Chapter 2: I’ll Give You All the Fun You Want!
Zhao Kuo’s fist suddenly seemed to slow down.
It was like watching a film at a fraction of its normal speed. Qin Dong could see openings everywhere.
He instinctively tilted his head and dodged the punch with ease. Then he raised his leg and planted a kick in Zhao Kuo’s stomach.
“Ow!”
Zhao Kuo cried out as he flew backward and crashed to the floor. When he got up, he clutched his stomach and stared at Qin Dong in disbelief.
The guy was usually a weakling. How had he sent him flying with one kick?
It was impossible. Zhao Kuo was a provincial amateur sanda champion!
Qin Dong was just as bewildered. Something about him seemed to have changed all at once. His eyesight was sharper, and he was much stronger.
Then he remembered what his grandfather had told him when he was little.
“Xiaodong, you possess the Sacred Dragon Physique passed down from our Qin ancestors. You have the makings of a true dragon. To awaken it, you must find a woman with a Mystic Yin Physique and unite with her.”
“I’ve divined that you’ll meet such a woman before you turn twenty-four. You must remain a virgin until your twenty-fourth birthday.”
“When the time comes, you’ll become a power in your own right and shake the world.”
Could Grandpa have been telling the truth? Had his Sacred Dragon Physique awakened?
While Qin Dong stood there lost in thought, Zhao Kuo roared, snatched up an ashtray, and swung it at his head. If it connected, Qin Dong would be lucky to escape with a serious injury.
Qin Dong sneered. Instead of backing away, he stepped forward and caught Zhao Kuo’s wrist.
Crack.
“Ah!”
Zhao Kuo screamed. Qin Dong kicked him across the room again, then gave him no chance to catch his breath. He climbed on top of him and rained down punches.
Thud, thud, thud.
Every blow landed hard.
“This is how rich people have fun, huh?”
“You like messing with me?”
“Then I’ll give you all the fun you want today!”
Qin Dong’s eyes were red with rage. Zhao Kuo howled with every punch. Within seconds, his face was bruised and bloody, and he was begging for mercy.
“Stop… Qin Dong, I was wrong. Stop…”
Xu Lei lunged at Qin Dong, flailing wildly. “You bastard! How dare you hit Young Master Zhao? I’ll kill you!”
Qin Dong got to his feet, seized her by the hair, and dragged her over.
“Ah! Let go! That hurts!” she shrieked.
He showed no mercy. He slapped her again and again, more than a dozen blows from both hands, until she collapsed on the floor with her face swollen like a pig’s.
Xu Lei stared at him in shock and fear. “Y-you dared hit me?”
Qin Dong looked down at the shameless pair. “After what you did to me, even killing you wouldn’t be too much.”
Zhao Kuo had been pampered all his life and had never suffered such humiliation. He glared at Qin Dong with hatred.
“You’ve got guts, Qin. So you can fight? I’m calling the police. I’ll make sure you rot in prison!”
He pulled out his phone and made the call.
Less than ten minutes later, sirens sounded outside. Several officers hurried upstairs. When they entered, they found Zhao Kuo and Xu Lei on the floor, groaning.
The middle-aged officer leading them was startled by Zhao Kuo’s condition. “Young Master Zhao? What happened to you?”
Zhao Kuo recognized him, and his expression brightened. “Deputy Chief Chen, this guy tried to kill me and my girlfriend! Arrest him!”
Qin Dong hurried to explain. “Officer, that’s not what happened—”
“Quiet, all of you,” Deputy Chief Chen cut in coldly. “You can explain yourselves at the station. Take all three of them in!”
Qin Dong knew he had no choice but to cooperate. He followed the officers to the police car, and Zhao Kuo and Xu Lei were brought along in the same vehicle.
As soon as they were seated, Zhao Kuo leaned close to Qin Dong’s ear and lowered his voice.
“I’ll tell you straight, Qin. Deputy Chief Chen is a friend of my dad’s. You’re fucking finished!”
Qin Dong’s heart sank. He was a poor student with no money or connections. Once they reached the station, what would stop Zhao Kuo from doing whatever he wanted to him?
But there was nothing he could do now. He shot Zhao Kuo a cold glance and said nothing.
…
Meanwhile, in a Bentley Continental traveling along the expressway, Ye Junyao answered a call.
“Ms. Ye, I’ve found the information you wanted on Qin Dong, but…”
“But what?”
The woman on the other end replied, “Qin Dong just got into a fight. He’s been taken to Sanjiang Police Station.”
Ye Junyao frowned. “Contact a top law firm in Nanjiang City immediately. Have them get him released on bail.”
“If that doesn’t work, call the director of the Nanjiang City Public Security Bureau.”
“Yes, ma’am!”
…
At Sanjiang Police Station, Qin Dong was taken into an interrogation room alone. A young officer came in, his face stern.
“Qin Dong, is it? Tell me the truth. Why did you assault Zhao Kuo and Xu Lei?”
“Officer, Zhao Kuo attacked me first. I was acting in self-defense.”
Bang!
The young officer slammed his hand on the table. “You beat Zhao Kuo and that girl into that state, and you call it self-defense?”
“Confess and you’ll be treated leniently. Resist and you’ll face a harsher sentence. I suggest you tell the truth and try to win the victims’ forgiveness.”
“Otherwise, you won’t just go to prison. The university will expel you, too. Your life will be ruined. Understand?”
Qin Dong wasn’t stupid. He knew perfectly well that if he went along with the officer, he’d never be able to clear his name.
He leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and refused to say another word.
Meanwhile, in Deputy Chief Chen’s office, Zhao Kuo sat on the sofa, cursing.
“Uncle Chen, we can’t let this go. That bastard nearly beat me to death. You have to make him pay!”
Xu Lei chimed in, “Exactly, Chief Chen. Qin Dong’s a violent maniac. You can’t let him off!”
Deputy Chief Chen frowned inwardly at their arrogance. Zhao Kuo really was a brainless rich kid. They lived in a society governed by law, with surveillance cameras and police body cameras everywhere, yet he kept demanding someone be dealt with.
Did he think his family owned the station? Chen was only a deputy chief, not an emperor.
Still, out of consideration for Zhao Kuo’s father, he placated him. “All right, Xiao Kuo. I know what I’m doing. Once we’ve taken the statements, we’ll handle it as appropriate.”
Just then, someone knocked on the office door. An officer hurried in.
“Chief Chen, there’s a lawyer outside. He says he’s here to get that university student, Qin Dong, released on bail.”
All three people in the room stared at him.
“What?”
Zhao Kuo frowned. “That pauper Qin Dong can barely afford to eat next month. Where would he get the money for a lawyer?”
