Chapter 4: She’s Seriously Rich!
Zheng Youwei stared at Ye Junyao. “Ms. Ye, do you… know our employee?”
He had every reason to tread carefully. She was an extraordinarily wealthy client, ready to buy three homes at Yunding Tiangong Villas in one go. The deal was worth at least a hundred million yuan. The commission alone would keep his company well fed, so of course he treated her like royalty.
“No,” Ye Junyao said coolly. “I just like the look of him. He can take care of me from here.”
Zheng wouldn’t have dared object. He bobbed his head. “Of course! It’s his good fortune to be of service to you, Ms. Ye.”
Then he turned to Qin Dong, his expression becoming harsh. “What are you standing there for? Come pour Ms. Ye some tea!”
“She’s one of our most important clients. She intends to buy three Yunding Tiangong villas at once. If you don’t take good care of her, don’t bother coming to work tomorrow!”
Qin Dong was startled. Why had she come to the agency where he worked? And she wanted three villas at once. She really was rich.
He hurried over to pour her tea. Ye Junyao barely glanced at him.
“Mr. Zheng, can we see the villas now?”
“Of course!” Zheng’s face creased into a broad smile. “Just a moment, Ms. Ye. I’ll get the keys.”
“You there, Qin Dong. Come with me.”
Qin Dong followed him out. A short while later, Zheng pressed a heavy bunch of keys and a bank card into his hand.
“The villa numbers are on the keys, so they’re easy to check. There’s five hundred thousand yuan on the card. The PIN is six eights.”
He lowered his voice. “Listen carefully. You must take good care of Ms. Ye today. Whatever she asks for, give it to her. If this deal falls through, you’ll answer to me. Understood?”
“Understood, boss.”
More than ten minutes later, Zheng saw Qin Dong and Ye Junyao out of Anjia Real Estate, flattering her all the way.
In the lobby, Yang Wei stared after them. He had already found out that the beautiful Ms. Ye wanted to buy three villas in one of Nanjiang City’s most exclusive neighborhoods. The commission alone could support an ordinary person for life.
What infuriated him most was that she had specifically asked for Qin Dong.
“How the hell did that kid get so lucky? A rich woman like that takes a liking to him?”
“Why can’t something like that happen to me?”
His face twisted with jealousy.
Outside, Qin Dong noticed a brand-new red Lamborghini parked by the road, its sleek body gleaming in the sun.
Ye Junyao stopped and finally looked at him. “Can you drive it?”
“Yes. I drove one when I worked as a designated driver.”
Without another word, she tossed him the keys. Zheng opened the rear door for her and waited with a fawning smile until she was seated before closing it. Qin Dong climbed into the driver’s seat, started the engine, shifted into gear, and pulled away. The luxury car, worth ten million yuan, sped off with a low roar.
…
At five that afternoon, Qin Dong opened the door to the third villa. He led the way, reciting its features with practiced ease.
“Ms. Ye, the property covers eight hundred square meters and faces south. It has some of the best natural light in the development, a two-hundred-square-meter private garden, and a heated outdoor pool.”
“The first floor has a double-height living room and separate Chinese and Western kitchens. The second has a sitting room and guest bedrooms, and the third has the primary bedroom and a large terrace.”
“The development also has a security team made up of former special forces personnel. They patrol around the clock to protect residents’ privacy and safety…”
Qin Dong had always been diligent. He had studied the details of these costly villas until he knew them by heart, and now that preparation was finally paying off.
Or so he hoped. They had toured three properties all afternoon, and he had talked until his mouth was dry. Ye Junyao had remained unmoved, neither nodding nor shaking her head. She hadn’t offered a single opinion.
What did she want? Surely she could at least say whether she was buying.
He remembered how uninhibited yet inexperienced she had seemed in the hotel bed the night before. Now she was distant and unapproachable. A thought struck him: was she angry about what had happened and here to get back at him?
If she deliberately found fault or simply walked away without buying, Zheng would eat him alive.
He cleared his throat. “Ms. Ye, are you satisfied with this one? If it doesn’t suit you, we can look at some others.”
Ye Junyao turned slowly, studied his face, and raised an eyebrow.
“There’s no need. I’ll take all three.”
Qin Dong gaped. She really was loaded!
Seeing his astonishment, she gave him a knowing look. “Qin Dong, isn’t it? I’ve given you a huge sale. How do you plan to thank me?”
Caught off guard, he blurted, “The only things I own worth any money are my kidneys. How about… I offer myself instead?”
He regretted it the instant the words left his mouth.
Her cheeks warmed, and she shot him a fierce look. Then, to his surprise, she said, “All right.”
Qin Dong choked. She had to be teasing him.
At the sight of his discomfort, Ye Junyao smiled with a hint of disdain. “Don’t tell me you’re all talk and no courage.”
His temper flared. “You said it!”
He scooped her up and carried her toward the bed. Her cool expression gave way to alarm.
“W-what are you doing? Put me down!”
“Didn’t you say I was all talk? I’ll prove you wrong!”
He set her on the bed and leaned over her to prove his point.
