Chapter 13
“What’s wrong?”
When Lu Tong called me back, her voice was a little breathless.
Anger surged straight to my head in an instant, and I shot up from the sofa at home.
“Where are you? With whom? What are you doing?”
I couldn’t control myself and roared.
Zhao Cai, who had been lazily lying on the carpet, belly up, was startled by my outburst and darted back into the hole of the cat tree.
Lu Tong paused, and it was several seconds before she replied, “Out with a few friends cycling. What’s wrong?”
I hesitated.
Only when I heard the noisy voices on her end did I believe what Lu Tong was saying.
Only then did I realize that my reaction was indeed a bit excessive.
So I softened my tone, “Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”
Lu Tong sent me her location.
It wasn’t far from the restaurant her friends had booked.
When I arrived, only Lu Tong was left by the roadside, leaning against her bike.
She saw me, her face full of confusion.
I didn’t hear what she asked me; my gaze was fixed on her.
She was dressed in full cycling gear.
Her figure was tightly wrapped, every curve on display.
My displeasure only intensified. I tried to keep my voice down, “When did you start cycling? You can’t wear that anymore.”
“Why not?”
Lu Tong snatched her mountain bike from my hands.
In the end, of course, Lu Tong got into my car.
“Because you’re my wife.”
“It’s not good for you to dress like that. If other men see you, I’ll get jealous.”
I tried to explain patiently.
Just like when I used to persuade her to quit the university cheerleading squad.
But this time she retorted, “Isn’t this an open marriage? I haven’t even done anything yet, and you can’t handle it?”
