Chapter 14
To be honest.
I was initially angry.
But hearing Lu Tong say that, my emotions dissipated.
Compared to her calm agreement that day, I actually felt a lot more secure.
And I had no concerns about the possibility of Lu Tong cheating, as my friends suggested.
As I drove, I watched her cheeks turn slightly red with anger and chuckled softly.
Lu Tong, at 32, surprisingly seemed a bit cute to me.
Like a little cat with claws out.
Thinking herself a tiger.
I reached out to hold her hand, but she dodged it righteously.
“Focus on driving.”
Her voice was light.
Like a feather, tickling me over and over.
I curved my lips into a smile and took a detour to a nearby mall to buy her a dress to change into before heading to the restaurant.
Most people had already arrived.
During the meal, Lu Tong barely spoke, quietly eating and listening to others chat.
Until my friend’s wife broke down emotionally.
“Wang Qing, stop pretending.”
“I know your business better than anyone. I said divorce, and that’s it.”
She was drunk, slamming her glass onto the table.
Lu Tong paused, putting down her chopsticks.
Once my friend’s wife’s emotions calmed a bit, Lu Tong pulled out a tissue and handed it to her.
“Here, wipe it off.”
My friend’s wife suddenly turned to Lu Tong and asked, “As a woman, can you accept an open marriage?”
The room fell silent instantly.
I tightened my grip on the glass, only to hear Lu Tong chuckle lightly.
“Yes, I can accept it.”
Her tone was so relaxed, relaxed to the point where it inexplicably felt a bit jarring to me.
