Chapter 12
The property management said the yoga studio had adjusted its working hours.
Which meant that for over a month, Lu Tong hadn’t been working on weekends.
Yet she hadn’t mentioned it to me.
Suddenly, a question from a friend popped into my mind.
If Lu Tong found another man, would I mind?
Damn right, I’d mind.
I think I’d kill someone.
I drove home.
The traffic lights were ridiculously frequent along the way.
My mood grew increasingly irritable.
Until I saw Lu Tong’s car in the parking lot.
My heart eased a little.
The elevator was stuck on the fifth floor for a long time.
Lu Tong’s phone still went unanswered.
Ever since we dated and got married, the few times she didn’t answer were always because she was in class.
If something really came up, she’d give me a heads-up.
Today’s situation was a first.
So as soon as I stepped through the door, I couldn’t hold back my temper and questioned her.
“I called you so many times, didn’t you see?”
“Do you know how worried I was?”
But even after I changed into my slippers, Lu Tong didn’t appear.
The only response was Zhao Cai’s meowing.
Lu Tong wasn’t home.
This was beyond my understanding.
I rushed through the bedroom, the guest room, the study, and even the laundry room.
The house was as tidy and orderly as ever.
Yet my heart was a mess, filled with panic.
