The Mute Villainess and Her Snake Prince - Chapter 11
I was a little sad after saying goodbye to Miao Miao.
While walking with my brother, we happened to run into the neighbor boy coming home from playing ball.
I happily went up to him. “Little brother, how… how is the kitten?”
The neighbor boy blushed when he saw me. “Qiuqiu has gotten a lot fatter now. He can eat canned food and kibble already.”
“Wow, his name is Qiuqiu (Ball)?”
“Yeah.”
“C-can I see a picture of him?”
“W-well… my house isn’t far. Do you want to come and see him?” the neighbor boy asked, scratching his head shyly.
I looked back at my brother, hesitating.
My brother put a hand on my shoulder, his smile not quite reaching his eyes. “Maybe next time. Next time, I’ll go with her.”
He put extra emphasis on the words “I’ll go with her.”
But wasn’t my brother terrified of cats?
After the neighbor boy left,
my brother snorted. “That kid is up to no good. We’re not playing with him.”
I was a little confused. “Why? I think he’s really nice.”
“Brother, brother, you call everyone brother,” my brother grumbled. “It took me so long to get you to talk, and I’ve barely heard you say a few words. But the moment you see him, you’re so chatty. You’ve never said that much to me at once.”
His voice was too low for me to hear clearly. “What did you say, brother?”
My brother looked at me, his tone very serious. “Yan Yan, let me tell you, a cute little girl like you will have a lot of people who like you. But, we have to learn to refuse some of their unreasonable requests. You can’t just go to a stranger’s house. Even if you really want to, you have to have an adult with you.
“If anyone touches you in your private areas, you have to say no loudly and then tell your brother. Brother will beat them up for you.
“And most importantly,” my brother said sternly, “no dating early! Absolutely! Not! Allowed!”
I nodded.
“Did you hear me?” he asked loudly.
“I heard you!”
