The Mute Villainess and Her Snake Prince - Chapter 12
The day before school started.
I was rushing to finish my summer homework.
The bullet comments sounded urgent.
[Little sister, hurry to the park and save your brother!]
[Those naughty kids sprinkled realgar powder on your brother, and he’s passed out!]
[They’re plotting to put him in a jar and take him to school to scare the other kids!!]
[It’s at the same place where you were playing on the swings! Go quickly, little sister!!]
I was so scared I shot up and ran.
The comments said that snakes are most afraid of realgar powder. My brother might get steeped in wine!!
I have to save my brother!!!
When I got to the park, I saw a group of elementary school students huddled around a patch of grass, whispering.
A circle of yellow powder was sprinkled around my brother. His snake head was drooping, and he wasn’t moving.
Fat Tiger was poking his head with a stick.
I rushed over and pushed him away, scooping my brother into my arms.
“It’s you again!”
“Boss, it’s that girl from last time who made the snake bite us!”
Fat Tiger stood with his hands on his hips. “You! Give me back the snake. We caught it.”
I refused. “This is my snake! He only bit you last time because you were bullying me!”
The students looked at each other.
“I got bit on the butt by the snake last time. It hurt for days, and my mom gave me a good spanking.”
“Me too…”
“Me too.”
“Whatever, let’s just grab the snake!”
One of the boys pushed me to the ground. I struggled to get back up.
They kept pushing me, and I kept getting up.
My new dress was getting dirty. I wonder if Mom will be mad when she sees it.
After this happened a few times, the boy got impatient. “Hand over the little black snake!”
I glared at him. “I already told my parents. They’re on their way.”
The boy got a little scared when he heard that.
Fat Tiger was about to grab the snake himself.
Just then, a man in the distance shouted, “What are you doing? Don’t bully girls!”
They scattered in fear.
I thanked the man and quickly ran home with the little black snake.
I called Mom and Dad, and they said they would be home as soon as possible.
I held the little black snake in my hands, tears streaming down my face.
A tear dripped onto the snake. It weakly lifted its head and nudged my finger, looking very frail.
Is brother hungry?
I tried to give it water, but it wouldn’t drink.
Then I laid out all my snacks in front of him.
The little black snake looked at me, seemingly speechless.
I tried everything for a long time, but it still wouldn’t move.
Luckily, Mom and Dad came home then.
Mom gasped when she saw the little black snake.
Dad looked embarrassed.
Mom was furious. “Didn’t you promise me you wouldn’t give birth to a monster? What is this?”
Dad scratched his head. “There’s a 60% chance of having a pure-blood human when a human and a demon have a child. Who knew our little Yan would be in the other 40%.”
The bullet comments were amused.
[Mom also took a long time to accept the fact that Dad is a snake.]
[Mom was afraid of scaring the supporting character, so she strictly forbade Dad from showing his true form at home. She never thought her son would be one too…]
[Dad was afraid of making Mom mad, so he kept the fact that his son was a snake a secret.]
[Mom probably feels some regret too. If she had known her son inherited his father’s bloodline, she would have taken precautions to protect him earlier…]
So Dad is also a snake…
Reading the comments, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for Mom.
Mom must have been through a lot.
Mom seemed to remember something and looked at me, pulling me into her arms and patting my back. “It looks like Yan Yan already knew. You must have been so scared.”
She couldn’t help but glare at Dad again.
Dad lowered his head in shame.
I shook my head. “I’m okay. Please, hurry and save my brother!”
Mom picked up the little black snake and discussed with Dad worriedly, “With Lin like this, should we take him to a doctor or a vet?”
Dad took our brother and examined him, then relaxed. “He’s about to shed his skin. Just let him rest at home, and he’ll be fine after a nap.”
Hearing that, Mom and I both breathed a sigh of relief.
That night, I placed my brother on the pillow next to me, covered him with a blanket, and put a piece of chocolate beside him.
Dad said that my brother isn’t an adult yet, and each time he sheds his skin, it takes five to seven days.
He’ll definitely be hungry when he wakes up.
I lay down next to my brother and slowly closed my eyes.
Now, I’m not afraid anymore.
Because my brother, just like Mom and Dad, is the family I love most in the world.
(The End)
