Summary
My new adoptive parents came to the orphanage to pick a child.
Between the chatty, hyperactive female lead and me, they chose quiet little me.
Suddenly, a stream of comments floated past my eyes.
[The adoptive parents prefer the weak and obedient supporting female character right now, not knowing that the female lead is the one who can truly save the male lead.]
[The male lead’s true form is a snake. He was hurt by humans as a child, which made him gloomy and withdrawn, refusing to even speak.]
[The supporting female character is completely useless. She wanted to get on the male lead’s good side, but the moment she saw his true form, she burst into tears.]
[Once the supporting female character gets returned by the parents, it’ll be our adorable, talkative female lead’s turn to shine.]
A snake?
Snakes are the one thing I’m terrified of.
At our parents’ urging, the male lead emotionlessly moved to hug me.
I trembled, so scared that I blurted out, “N-no…”
The male lead’s eyes instantly lit up.
He put on a sad expression. “You hate me too, don’t you? Well, I suppose no one could like me after seeing what I really am…”
I shut my eyes and shakily hugged him. “N-no, I don’t. I… I like you a lot, brother.”
The comments flew by, expressing shock.
[Why isn’t the male lead withdrawn anymore?]
[The supporting female character is so cute, even when she’s scared. She was so frightened she actually started talking.]
[The male lead is now talking more than he has in his entire life, just to coax a few more words out of the supporting character.]
