Chapter 11
Using the town’s development project as a reason, Fu Tingshen also moved into the small town.
Yang Ke’er was convinced he chose to develop this town just to pursue me.
I wasn’t that narcissistic.
Fu Tingshen was always very serious about his work.
Although he rarely talked to me about his job or the Fu family, I knew he had put in a lot of effort to become the head of the family.
He would never make an unprofessional choice in his work for the sake of a woman.
“I’m relieved to see you’re so clear-headed,” Yang Ke’er said with a look of relief after hearing my analysis.
But I wasn’t relieved.
I don’t know if it was because of Fu Tingshen’s arrival, but my cannon fodder programming seemed to have been reawakened.
Things that had been going smoothly started to become incredibly difficult.
Even Chu Weiyi, who had barely ever been sick, suddenly came down with a high fever.
According to the original plot, Chu Weiyi didn’t exist in this world at all.
Could it be…
No!
I ran to the hospital with him in my arms.
“Dr. Lin, I’m begging you.” I grabbed Lin Zizhou’s arm, crying. “You have to save him.”
He was startled by me. He glanced at Chu Weiyi on the bed and comforted me, “It’s alright, it’s just a cold and fever.”
By the time Fu Tingshen arrived, Chu Weiyi’s fever had already subsided.
I looked up at him.
He frowned slightly. “Why are you crying again?”
“Fu Tingshen,” I said, holding back for a long time before finally breaking down into sobs, “I’m so scared.”
I was scared that this was all just a dream.
Scared that when I woke up, Chu Weiyi wouldn’t exist.
That no one would love me.
Fu Tingshen gently pulled me into his arms, his voice softening.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m here. Nothing will happen to you, and nothing will happen to him.”
He had no idea.
I cried in his arms for a long time. Finally, I looked up at him. “Fu Tingshen, let me go.”
Only by being far away from him could I feel at ease.
He seemed not to have expected me to say this and stared at me without speaking for a long time.
My eyes were sore. “Don’t come looking for me anymore.”
He gently raised his hand, his cool fingertips brushing away the tears from the corner of my eye.
Finally, his Adam’s apple moved with great difficulty.
“Alright.”
