The Autistic Puppy: A Gentle Soul - Chapter 8
“I thought you were angry.”
He said.
I was taken aback, “Why would I be angry?”
He didn’t answer my question.
It was rare to hear Qin Yu speak so much, so I decided to tease him like I would a puppy.
“Qin Yu, you’re so chatty today, makes me want to kiss you.”
He widened his eyes, seemingly annoyed that I interrupted him, and also surprised by my shameless words, his ears turning a shocking shade of red.
“You asked me if I couldn’t bear to leave you. I didn’t answer, and you got angry.”
Under the moonlight, the boy’s expression was particularly serious.
“Yes, I can’t bear to leave you.”
I listened to him answering his own question, utterly bewildered.
Is this kid out of his mind?
He seemed dissatisfied with my reaction, his brows furrowing deeper.
“And you? Can you bear to leave me?”
Suddenly, I understood.
Qin Yu thought that on the night we parted, I asked him a question, and because he didn’t respond, I got angry and ignored him.
That’s why he hurriedly chased me here.
What kind of ridiculous question is “can you bear to leave”? Did I ever ask such a thing?
My eyes lit up.
“Qin Yu, are you saying you like me and now you’re asking if I like you?”
Qin Yu was stunned, and then I saw him blush from his neck to the tips of his ears.
“Yes,” he said.
I didn’t expect him to be so straightforward, it was incredibly adorable!
I wanted to hug him tightly and give him a good squeeze.
In fact, I did just that, as I’ve always been a bold girl.
“Qin Yu, can I touch you?” I laughed cheekily.
Qin Yu’s voice carried a hint of helplessness, “You’ve already touched me.”
Feeling the firm muscles under my palm, I almost drooled.
How did I manage to date someone so amazing!
“How did you get here?”
I asked him.
He turned his head and looked not far away.
I was startled and realized that the driver who often drove us was parked at the village entrance, covered in mosquito bites and desperately swatting at the insects.
I twitched my lips, “You should head back first, I’ll return tomorrow.”
He nodded, moving my hand away from his chest.
“See you tomorrow.”
I was overjoyed.
Qin Yu used to say goodbye by simply turning and leaving, but now he says “see you tomorrow.”
“Love is truly wonderful.”
I didn’t expect the first person I’d see upon returning would be Yang Chen, not Qin Yu.
He blocked my doorway, “Where have you been these past few days?”
I couldn’t be bothered to respond to him.
My parents, on the other hand, greeted him warmly, “Chen, Ruo’s grandmother wasn’t feeling well, so we went back to our hometown.”
“Aren’t you about to have a holiday? We won’t let Ruo go to school these days, could you bring back any practice books for us?”
Yang Chen has always been well-behaved in front of my parents.
I couldn’t stand his hypocritical demeanor, so I grabbed my suitcase and turned to go inside.
As soon as I entered the house, the phone rang.
I checked my phone, it was Qin Yu.
He said he was downstairs at my place. “Mom, I’m going to take out the trash!”
Excitedly, I grabbed a trash bag and dashed downstairs.
Qin Yu squatted by the trash bin outside my house, like a puppy abandoned by its owner.
I swallowed hard.
Damn, how can there be someone so handsome in this world?
And this incredibly handsome person is my boyfriend!! Who can understand this?!!
My heart was filled with endless pink bubbles as I ran up to him.
Qin Yu stood up, and I quickly jumped into his arms.
He staggered back a couple of steps, then his eyes filled with laughter.
Qin Yu still wasn’t used to smiling; he tried to move his lips, only managing a somewhat gentle expression.
I didn’t mind.
Our Qin Yu is so handsome, even picking his nose would be charming.
I pulled him along, chatting endlessly about everything that happened at my grandmother’s house.
Just like before, Qin Yu listened quietly, nodding occasionally.
He still spoke very little, but his obedient demeanor made my heart burst with joy.
As the time approached, I reluctantly bid him farewell, stood on tiptoe, and planted a light kiss on his cheek, satisfied to see Qin Yu blush as red as a boiled shrimp.
I playfully patted his butt like a rogue, “I’m heading back.”
Teasing a young boy is so much fun!
But as I reached the stairwell, I was almost scared to death.
