Chapter 7
The matter of having a child was temporarily put on hold.
Even though I was eager, Yuan Chen took me to see Dr. Ji, who said my heart was weak, my body cold, and my blood stagnant. If I wanted a child, I would need to properly recuperate for three months before preparing for pregnancy.
On the way back, I pulled Yuan Chen into a milk tea shop, somewhat regretfully ordering the last cup of milk tea.
“After this cup, I won’t drink anymore, for the sake of our child.”
Yuan Chen smiled at me helplessly.
The staff asked what flavor I wanted.
“One cup of Osmanthus Ice Cream Black Tea.”
I love this brand of milk tea; it’s their new product this year, and I haven’t tried it yet.
Yuan Chen frowned slightly, “Why are you drinking something cold again?”
“Cold tastes better.” I brought the straw close to his mouth, “Want to try a sip?”
He reached out to ruffle my hair, and though his brow remained furrowed, he reluctantly bent down to take a sip.
The couple behind us covered their mouths, giggling.
This is Yuan Chen, even after eight years, he never refuses me, always accommodating.
But he soon had to leave; there was a meeting at the company.
He intended to personally take me home, but I didn’t want to be as willful as before, so I told him I’d return to school on my own.
Though a bit worried, time was pressing, and he reminded me to be safe before reluctantly getting into the car, glancing back every few steps.
The school was only a few hundred meters away, so I decided to walk there myself.
With the cool breeze blowing, I wanted to sort out my thoughts.
But I didn’t expect to see Chen Yinan again at the school gate.
