chapter 9
On the way back to the dormitory, Song Yan wore a sullen expression and didn’t say a word.
I tried to make conversation. “That’s so nice, you even brought me food.”
Song Yan turned his head to glance at me. “Mm.”
“Did you eat already?”
“Mm.”
“Was it good?”
“Mm.”
“…”
I was completely out of ideas.
Song Yan’s behavior was so obvious that even someone as slow as me when it comes to romance could tell-he was jealous.
For a moment, I didn’t know how to comfort him, so I took out my phone and secretly searched on Baidu: “How to comfort a Boyfriend who’s jealous.”
The first answer was:
“Explain things clearly to your Boyfriend, and make it clear that no one can replace his place in your heart. Then take the initiative, care more about him, and do something to make him happy.”
I was reading intently when Song Yan suddenly stopped walking and asked irritably:
“What are you sneaking a look at?”
“Nothing.” I put away my phone.
Song Yan’s face darkened even more. He took a deep breath and lit a cigarette.
From his expression, I could tell he was on the verge of exploding.
My high-paying job was in jeopardy.
I hurriedly followed the template to explain, “I just happened to run into Senior Jiang Yifan. I’m not very familiar with him, don’t overthink it. No one can replace your place in my heart.”
Truly irreplaceable-who else would pay me two hundred thousand yuan a month?
Song Yan’s expression eased a little. He turned his head and exhaled a puff of smoke, then asked me:
“So what about your phone? What are you hiding?”
I hesitated for a moment, but still handed him my phone.
Song Yan glanced at it, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly.
“So you know I’m jealous?”
“Mm.” I looked up at him. “You’re way too obvious. It’s hard not to notice.”
“You’re already my girlfriend, but you called him ‘husband,’ went to class with him, and even said ‘see you next time.’ It’s really annoying. I’m paying two hundred thousand a month-am I doing it just to get cheated on again?”
“My bad.” I hung my head.
“And next?”
“Hm?”
“Didn’t it say you should do something to make me happy?”
“Tell me, what do you want me to do?”
Song Yan lifted his chin. “Open your phone camera.”
I opened the camera. He took my phone, casually called over a passing student and said something, then walked to my side, naturally draping his arm-with the cigarette-over my shoulder. “Look at the camera.”
After taking a few photos, Song Yan checked them and seemed satisfied.
I took the initiative to ask, “Do you want me to post them on my Moments and make it official?”
“Now you’re being sensible.” Song Yan finally relaxed his brow, dragging me forward. “No rush, go eat lunch first. Your stomach’s been growling for ages. If it keeps going, it’ll be rude.”
Embarrassed, I touched my stomach, not expecting him to have noticed.
