chapter 6
After we had walked a short distance, he finally let go of me. Unhurriedly, he took out a cigarette and lit it, raising his eyebrows as he asked, “Do I look like him?”
The boy stood with his back to the light. I barely reached his chest. His eyes were long and slightly upturned, his nose was high and straight, his jawline sharp, and his thin lips exhaled a cloud of white smoke. The whole person radiated a dangerous yet captivating aura.
As for Senior Jiang Yifan just now, his build was similar, but his features were softer, the corners of his eyes gently drooping, his lips of moderate thickness, giving off a gentle and comfortable feeling like a spring breeze.
I shook my head seriously. “Not at all.”
“Then how could you mistake me? I stood next to you for half an hour, and you went off calling someone else ‘husband’?”
“Half an hour? I didn’t see you come down.”
“I didn’t stay overnight yesterday. I rushed back just for you.” He sighed theatrically. “Who would’ve thought I’d stand there for half an hour and my girlfriend wouldn’t even recognize me, and then call someone else ‘husband’ right in front of me. Looks like I haven’t spent my money in the right place.”
“You have, you have. When we get back, I’ll carve your face onto a cigarette and inhale it into my lungs. I’ll never mistake you again.”
He curled his lips with interest. “Weren’t you supposed to be the Ice Beauty? Why are you acting all dramatic with me?”
I immediately made my position clear. “As long as my husband likes it, I can be any way you want.”
He casually stubbed out his cigarette and tossed it into the trash. “I’ll forgive you this time for your good service attitude. Do you have class this morning?”
I finally relaxed. “Thank you, Sponsor. No class this morning.”
He glanced at me carelessly. “Sponsor?”
“Oops, I meant husband.”
“If you don’t, then come keep me company for morning class.” He slung his arm over my shoulder and led me toward the teaching building. “If you call someone else ‘husband’ again, I’ll dock your pay.”
“Got it.” I obediently followed him.
For this two hundred thousand, not to mention keeping him company in class, I’d even go bungee jumping with him.
He was a year above me, from the neighboring Computer Science Department.
He pulled me in from the back and went straight to the last row, starting to pick at his breakfast.
“I don’t like this. You finish it. I like Soup Dumplings, buy more next time.”
I pulled out my Notebook, bit the cap off my pen, and started scribbling furiously.
“Mm-hmm, go on.”
He raised his eyebrows and leaned over to look at my Notebook.

He paused, then burst out laughing. “Why are you so cute? Are you trying to kill me with laughter?”
Then he actually started choking, laughing and coughing wildly, taking a while to recover.
I silently added a few words: “Feed with caution, prone to choking.”
