Disguised as a Man, She Has Eight Men Fighting Over Her - Chapter 52
Chapter 52
“Say it,” Xie Zhi whispered wickedly into her ear.
“Tell him I’m right on top of you.”
Unable to endure his teasing, Lin Cheng drew a sharp breath, wedged one knee between them, then kicked him squarely in his hard abdomen.
“Hiss.” Caught off guard, Xie Zhi grunted and toppled to the floor.
“Serves you right!” Lin Cheng blurted.
“What?” Ji Hanzhou’s voice held displeasure.
She hurriedly corrected herself. “I said… I should go to set. I’ll be late if I don’t!”
The man on the phone seemed to have more to say, but after several silent seconds, he only answered, “Mm,” and hung up.
The room fell silent.
Lin Cheng glared at Xie Zhi, who sat rubbing his abdomen with a roguish smile.
“Xie Zhi, you bastard!”
He approached the bed again, eyes dangerous.
“Cursing me?”
She tried to retreat, but he caught her ankle and dragged her back.
Exactly one circle.
Yet Xie Zhi only left a light kiss on the top of her pale foot.
“Baby.”
“Curse me again.”
Lin Cheng: “…”
“Xie Zhi, get lost. Stop acting like a masochist.”
“Tch. Baby is getting fiercer by the day.”
Utterly speechless, Lin Cheng rose and threw the blanket over him.
“You’re forbidden from kissing me or walking around undressed from now on. Hear me?”
“No.”
His muffled voice could not conceal its laughter.
The pleasure did not last long.
When they reached the set, Director Fu was reviewing footage.
“Lin Chen, feeling better after the heatstroke?”
“I’m fine. Thank you, Director Fu.”
“Good. Change and finish yesterday’s close-ups.”
The reshoot went smoothly. After calling cut, however, Director Fu rubbed his hands awkwardly.
“Lin Chen, there’s something…”
“President Ji called this morning. He wants you back.”
“Other than Song Yan, the remaining small roles don’t show your face. I hate to waste such a promising kid, but there’s no real use for you.”
He sighed. “If I have a suitable role later, you’ll be the first I consider.”
Beside them, Xie Zhi’s pressure visibly darkened, his gaze fixed on Lin Cheng’s profile.
Lin Cheng understood. She had only been a bonus item, and landing Song Yan was already an unexpected gift. Suppressing her disappointment, she bowed.
“Thank you for taking care of me, Director Fu. I’m sorry for the trouble.”
“No trouble at all!” Fu Shan waved, genuinely regretful.
Xie Zhi slung an arm over her shoulders and drew her close.
“Fu Shan, I brought him. I’ll see him out.”
“Fine. Travel safely.”
In the crowded makeup room, everyone stared at Xie Zhi, who normally had a private room.
“He came with his teammate Lin Chen.”
“He’s even more handsome in person. That aura is terrifying…”
“Stan Lin Chen instead. He’s sweet, friendly, and has no airs!”
Several actors and artists who had spoken with Lin Cheng came to say goodbye.
Surrounded by their warmth, her cheeks pinkened and her eyes glowed.
Xie Zhi leaned against the doorway, arms folded, watching her smile.
He wanted to kiss her.
But he restrained himself. Not in public.
“Change and let’s go, Lin Chen.”
On the return drive, Xie Zhi sent the cart flying. Lin Cheng clutched the overhead handle.
“Why so fast?”
“Xie Zhi? You used to call me Brother Xie Zhi. Where did ‘Brother’ go?”
“A dog ate it,” she muttered.
He pressed the accelerator harder, Adam’s apple shifting.
“Mm. Woof.”
The cart braked precisely outside their building. Xie Zhi seized her wrist and dragged her upstairs.
The door slammed. Lin Cheng was pinned against it, forced to tilt her face for his kiss.
Hard wood behind her, solid chest before her—there was no escape. When she pushed, he caught both wrists and pinned them overhead, forcing her body against him.
She twisted away and bit his lower lip with small canine teeth.
“Hiss.” Xie Zhi finally retreated.
Blood slowly welled against his beautiful face.
“Serves you right,” she said guiltily. “You kissed me without warning.”
Xie Zhi laughed, wild and wicked. He wiped the blood away and slowly licked it from his fingertip.
“Mm. My fault.”
He approached again and pressed a blood-tinged kiss to the corner of her mouth.
“A gift from baby.”
“It only feels good. It doesn’t hurt.”
