Disguised as a Man, She Has Eight Men Fighting Over Her - Chapter 51
Chapter 51
Xie Zhi bent and kissed her with commanding force.
His heart stopped, then thundered hard enough to shake his chest.
Lin Cheng stared at his high nose and lowered lashes. He had not closed his eyes either; his black gaze seemed capable of bewitching her into its depths.
Shock erased every thought.
Sweet fermented rice and orange candy spread between their breaths.
She tried to retreat, but his arm locked around her waist. When he bit her, she opened her mouth in pain, and he invaded at once.
His hand slid through her hair and clasped her nape, pressing her into him. The kiss deepened until his presence surrounded her entirely.
Lin Cheng grew dizzy, unsure whether wine or her racing heart was responsible.
Xie Zhi could not stop. She was softer and sweeter than imagined, impossible to release. Her fingers tightened in his collar as a small whimper escaped.
“Mmm…”
He abruptly let her go before that sound destroyed his control.
The loss left her strangely empty. She looked up with wet, aroused eyes. Xie Zhi lowered both windows, but the night wind could not cool him.
“Why did you stop?” she asked in a sweet, hoarse voice.
“I don’t kiss drunks.”
His eyes contradicted him, fixed dangerously on her wet lips.
“Liar.” She complained, “My mouth hurts.”
“Delicate. Come here and let me hold you.”
He pulled her across the console and onto his lap, enclosing her against the steering wheel. His mouth wandered over her neck and down to her collarbone.
“Tickles~”
She pushed his shoulders, but he held her lower back.
“Then let me hold you longer.”
“Okay.”
Eventually she passed out or fell asleep. Xie Zhi carried her to bed and entered the bathroom.
Half an hour later, he emerged to find she had removed her binder and tossed it aside, her collar loose.
“Lin Cheng?”
“…Mm?”
More sober now, she stared, tilted her head, and ordered, “Lower your head.”
He obeyed as if bewitched. She grabbed his damp hair and yanked.
“Hiss…” Their noses nearly touched.
“Xie Zhi.” Her diction sounded clear.
“Mm?”
“You don’t need me to take responsibility, right?”
He laughed in anger. What a heartless woman.
“No.” He was not in a hurry.
“You don’t like me?”
She did not know. “You aren’t my type.”
Xie Zhi caught her wrist. “Love isn’t a type. It’s a feeling.”
“Did you hate me kissing you?”
“…No.” Her ears reddened, but she answered honestly. It had felt wonderfully strange, tingling like shower water over her lips, only far more intense.
“That’s enough.”
He bent again, one hand beside her ear, the other lifting her chin, and worked slowly over her lips.
This time Lin Cheng was sober. She felt every shiver from their mouths rubbing, every hot breath over her face.
Could kissing truly make one’s legs weak?
At last he withdrew, panting, forehead against hers.
“I’m showering.”
“Didn’t you already?”
He kissed her cheek.
“Mm. I’m hot. Everywhere.”
As water sounded again, Lin Cheng pressed a hand over her racing heart.
—
The next morning, a phone call woke her. She reached from beneath the blanket and answered.
“Hello—”
A powerful arm dragged her backward against a hot chest.
Xie Zhi’s husky whisper sounded above her ear.
“Good morning, baby.”
From the phone came Ji Hanzhou’s steady voice. “What’s wrong?”
“N-nothing, Brother Hanzhou.”
Xie Zhi rolled her over and caged her between his hands. He wore only gray Calvin Klein briefs, every hard line exposed.
Her face exploded red. She turned away and squeezed her eyes shut.
“Director Fu said you had heatstroke yesterday?” Ji Hanzhou asked.
“Mm… I’m better. Thank you.”
Above her, Xie Zhi narrowed his eyes at the curve of her neck and lowered his head. His teeth grazed the thin skin, making her itch.
She pushed him, but he pinned her wrist beside her ear.
“Director Fu praised your performance.”
“Director… Director Fu taught me well.” Her voice began trembling.
“Mm. What about Xie Zhi? Didn’t he look after you?”
“Mmm~”
Xie Zhi bit her earlobe just hard enough, nearly making her cry out.
