Transmigrated as a Spoiled Girl and Stuck with the Villain - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
The impact of a peerless heartthrob whispering sweet nothings to me was simply too much.
I splashed my face with cold water three times before the heat finally subsided.
Once I calmed down, I suddenly realized the consequences.
“I’m doomed, System! If I miss this chance, what if I can never escape again?”
The System fell silent for a moment.
“How about we try a different approach?”
“Instead of trying to escape on your own, make Xie Huaiyan find you so unbearable that he kicks you out himself.”
I was stunned. “Uh… can that really work?”
The System patted its chest with confidence. “Don’t worry. I’ve traveled far and wide and seen so many men; I understand them much better than you do!”
“Men hate clingy, controlling women the most.”
“You just need to fully embrace your inner ‘drama queen’-throw constant tantrums and be as unreasonable as possible. I guarantee you’ll be tossed out in a few days!”
That actually sounded quite logical.
I nodded solemnly.
“Good idea!”
…
The next evening, Xie Huaiyan returned five minutes late.
He walked inside, loosening his tie with one hand, a faint air of languid exhaustion radiating from him.
A perfect opportunity!
The System said that being a nuisance when a man is exhausted yields twice the results with half the effort.
So, I immediately sprinted and threw myself into his arms.
I looked up and began to wail at the top of my lungs.
Xie Huaiyan’s body stiffened. Then, he used his fingers to carefully wipe away my tears. “What’s wrong?”
I sobbed and clutched his collar.
“Husband, are you seeing someone else behind my back?”
Through my tear-blurred vision, I saw Xie Huaiyan raise an eyebrow subtly. “Hmm?”
“I don’t care, I don’t care!”
“You came home so late today. You must have gone out to find someone else. You don’t want me anymore!”
I squeezed out tears with all my might, thinking of every sad thing that had ever happened to me.
I tried my hardest to act like a heartbroken, love-struck fool.
But just then, something warm touched my face.
I turned my head in confusion.
And suddenly, I couldn’t cry anymore.
Xie Huaiyan was holding a bag of exquisitely packaged pastries, his tone tinged with a hint of helplessness.
“And you claim you don’t have a bad memory.”
“Weren’t you clamoring for these new pastries a few days ago? The shop opened today, and that’s why I was delayed a bit.”
I froze.
Only then did I remember a new dessert shop had opened recently. I’d heard the chef was world-class and had extremely high standards for quality, only making five limited portions a day.
I had only mentioned it in passing back then; I never thought I’d actually get to eat them.
But to my surprise, Xie Huaiyan had actually bought them for me.
I clutched my chest.
I tried my best to suppress my inexplicably racing heartbeat.
No, I absolutely cannot fall for this ‘honey trap’!
My gaze shifted, and I suddenly spotted a smudge of red on Xie Huaiyan’s collar. I had finally found another opening.
“Wait, what’s this on your clothes?”
My fighting spirit reignited.
Excitedly, I stood on my tiptoes and yanked his collar open.
“How is there a lipstick mark on your collar?”
Xie Huaiyan’s ears turned slightly red as his clothes were being tugged.
He only snapped back to his senses when he heard my words, glancing down indifferently at his neckline.
Then, he reached out with his well-defined fingers and gently pressed them against my lips.
My words died in my throat.
Just as I was about to ask him what he was doing, I heard Xie Huaiyan’s slightly husky voice whisper in my ear.
“This is your lipstick mark.”
“It accidentally rubbed off during our morning kiss today. I couldn’t bring myself to wipe it off.”
