To Forgive or Not to Forgive - Chapter 8
“Wen Shuyi.”
His voice was soft, carrying a faint coolness that seemed to seep into the depths of one’s heart.
I lifted my eyelids and looked at him:
“Still here, President Chen?”
The office was empty; all the colleagues had left.
In the vast space, only he and I remained.
His brows furrowed slightly:
“Why are you calling me that?”
I lowered my head, stuffing small items from the desk into my bag, my tone puzzled:
“Because you’re my boss.”
Suddenly, a warm, large hand rested on my waist.
His voice was slightly hoarse:
“Aren’t I your fiancé?”
My hands froze mid-action, and I let out a cold laugh:
“Ha?
“Didn’t we make things clear this morning?
“We’re breaking up.”
I could feel his hand on my waist stiffen slightly. His lips pressed together, and his gaze fell on me:
“Wen Shuyi, did I agree to that?
“We’re already engaged.”
I stepped back:
“Then let me say it again, formally: I want to break up with you.
“End the engagement.
“When you have time, remember to return the ring to me.
“My ring is already at your house.”
Chen Jianjin’s expression froze:
“I didn’t agree.
“Go home.”
Without giving me a chance to resist, he clasped my waist and led me into the elevator.
I frowned tightly:
“Are you crazy?
“What if we run into colleagues?”
The grip on my waist only tightened.
His eyes fixed on the changing numbers of the elevator:
“I’m with my fiancée. What opinions could anyone have?”
I managed to get into the car, trying to stay inconspicuous, fortunately without encountering anyone familiar.
Perfect timing-to go back and pack my things.
