The Villainess's Maniacal Aesthetics - Chapter 16
In the next room, I leaned against the door, watching the honeymoon suite through the crack.
Half an hour later, hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway.
Lu Zichen appeared, followed by four hulking brutes.
His expression was twisted with malice. “Go on,” he snarled. “Just don’t kill her.”
As the men entered the room with lecherous grins, Lu Zichen locked the door behind them.
After that, he turned and walked towards the room I was in.
“Ningning?” he called out, his voice sickeningly sweet. “Why didn’t you close the door?”
I sat on the edge of the bed with my back to him, my long hair hiding my face. The stench of alcohol on Lu Zichen grew stronger as he approached. His hand came to rest on my shoulder.
“I’m sorry you had to go through that today…” he whispered, his fingertips tracing my hair. “But soon, we’ll get to hear that bitch’s screams.”
Just then, a series of muffled “pfft-pfft” sounds broke the intimate atmosphere.
Lu Zichen’s expression contorted in agony. He stumbled back. “Damn it!” he cursed, kicking the nightstand. “It’s all that bitch’s fault! I’ll make her pay for this!”
Then, his voice softened again. “But don’t you worry, Ningning. I had a camera installed next door. We can watch…”
His words died in his throat.
Because I had turned to face him, a brilliant smile on my face. “Surprise!”
“Jiang Yongning! What are you doing here?!” Lu Zichen’s eyes widened in disbelief.
As if in answer to his question, a blood-curdling scream erupted from the next room.
“Get off me! You have the wrong person! I’m Jiang Huaning! You disgusting-AH! Help! Why won’t the door open?! Somebody help me!”
Lu Zichen lunged for the door like a madman, but I stepped in his way.
Before his terrified eyes, I pulled out a taser and zapped him. He collapsed to the floor, twitching.
“Happy wedding night, darling husband!”
