SOLD to My Ex: A Forbidden Service Contract - Chapter 7
I finished drying my hair and was about to get up and leave.
Zhou Yan was leaning against the doorway, as if he had anticipated my departure. He had his arms crossed, his tone unnervingly calm. “Where are you going?”
“Home,” I said with my back to him. “Service hours are over.”
“Are you still angry?” he asked in a low voice. “Those things I said just now… you know I wasn’t joking.”
“Of course you weren’t joking,” I sneered, turning to face him. “You’re very seriously insane.”
His eyes darkened, as if a nerve had been struck. “Then when you’re with me, are you being very serious too?”
Me: “I’m serious about making money, not serious about being with you.”
He took a step closer, his presence looming over me, his voice dropping low. “That’s not your attitude. When you look at me, your eyes tremble, your voice softens.”
“Don’t flatter yourself, Zhou Yan,” I took a step back. “You think everyone who looks at you is flirting with you, don’t you?”
“You started it,” he let out a low laugh, his eyes a little red.
I clenched my jaw. “Do you have any idea how much I want to let you go?”
He said, “Then don’t,” a statement that pushed me to the brink of collapse.
The next second, I abruptly snatched the service agreement from the coffee table. “You wanted ‘customized service,’ right? Fine. I’m raising the price for today’s order.”
His gaze tightened. “What do you mean?”
I threw the agreement at him. “I’ll take my clothes off for you. Have you seen enough? Do you want me to kneel and call you ‘daddy’? Isn’t this the kind of pay-for-submission game you love the most?”
He froze completely, as if my words had struck a fatal blow.
“That’s enough,” his voice was so strained it was almost breaking. “Do you have any idea what you’re saying?”
“Of course I do,” I said through gritted teeth. “I just look down on people like you. You think a few cards will move me? You think a few ‘I want to win you back’s will make me cry with gratitude?”
I was yelling, my eyes turning red. “Zhou Yan, when you turned and walked away three years ago, did you ever think about how I got through that night?”
“It’s not that I didn’t want to explain…”
“You just didn’t want to,” I cut him off harshly. “You didn’t care, you thought it was too much trouble. You thought a simple ‘you’re not suited for relationships’ would sum it all up. You were so high and mighty, you threw out a sentence and walked away, only to come back three years later with this attitude of bestowing a second chance on me.”
His eyes flickered, as if he had finally lost control of his emotions. He abruptly raised his hand and, with a rip, tore the agreement to shreds.
“Yes, I deserve it!” he practically roared. “But let me tell you, from this day on, don’t you ever mention any service agreement to me again!”
His voice was suppressed and out of control. “If you want to stay, then stay. Not as a service provider, not as a hired hand, not as a delivery guy. You’re my boyfriend!”
I could barely stand. All my emotions were welling up in my throat, burning my chest.
Seeing that I didn’t say anything, he took another step forward, his voice almost a whisper. “I don’t want you to come near me with a price tag anymore. I want you… to be willing.”
A lump formed in my throat. I lowered my head and picked up the shredded pieces of paper. He thought I was going to piece them back together, to restore that “protective film.”
But I clenched the paper in my fist, balling it up tightly. I threw it in the trash and looked up at him. “So, do you want to keep a tab?” Before he could react, I stood on my toes and kissed him.
It was a kiss with no prelude, no restraint.
Just a kiss filled with hatred, collapse, grievance, and repression.
He was stunned for half a second, then he wrapped his arms around me, holding my waist, and returned all the emotions with equal force.
We kissed until we were almost breathless. I pushed him away, panting, my voice so hoarse it was unrecognizable. “Don’t think this means I believe you.”
He was panting too, his eyes red. “Believe it or not, Song Yu, you’re the only one for me in this lifetime.”
I closed my eyes, tears almost falling.
But I didn’t dare to cry. I was afraid that if I cried… I would truly forgive him completely.
I turned and walked out of the room. The elevator doors were closing, and I ran desperately towards them.
Just as the doors were about to shut, a hand reached in, and with a click, the doors reopened.
He stood at the entrance, his face as gloomy as if he’d been standing in the rain all night.
“Song Yu,” he said, enunciating each word, “I’ll say this one last time. If you really want to go, then I will immediately, right now, add more money, and then kneel.”
Seeing no reaction from me, he continued, “If you dare to leave, I will kidnap you.”
I was furious. “Are you fucking trying to be in a relationship, or are you trying to imprison me?”
He gritted his teeth. “A relationship, with an imprisonment clause. The term is forever.”
