Chapter 12
I had no intention of confronting him.
Because it wasn’t the right time to tear things apart.
I met his gaze, quickly summoning my emotions.
My eyes grew moist, and I looked at him with grievance.
“Gu Yan… I just saw how hard you’ve been working lately, so I wanted to help you share some of the company’s burdens.”
“We’ve never had a child of our own, and I feel so guilty about it. I feel so useless…”
“Liang Chen is just someone I met by chance. I’ve always treated him like a younger brother. How could you think of me like that…”
As I spoke, my voice began to tremble.
Tears streamed down my cheeks.
I lowered my head and added, with even more grievance, “Do you know how many times I’ve heard rumors about you and Hu Feier from others?”
“She’s young, beautiful, and so capable, always by your side helping you.”
“Have I ever doubted you? No, because I trust you. But you…”
At this point, I deliberately choked up and didn’t continue.
Gu Yan’s gaze flickered with guilt.
Then, the moment I stopped speaking, he immediately pulled me into his arms.
His voice softened at once. “Alright, alright, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have raised my voice at you.”
“It’s just that I’ve been so busy lately. And at night, when I want to spend some time with you, you always seem unwilling.”
“I care about you too much, that’s why I got jealous.”
“And there’s nothing going on between me and Hu Feier. Don’t let those rumors get to you.”
“We’ve been together for so many years. Don’t you know what kind of person I am?”
I looked at him with tear-filled eyes.
But inwardly, I thought: I didn’t know before, but now I do. You’re nothing but a beast.
