Chapter 5
I brought Pei Chenghuan home with me.
Unexpectedly, we ran right into Jin Beiyan as we returned.
He’s always busy with work and usually has lunch at the office.
Why did he decide to come home today?
Jin Beiyan’s expression darkened slightly, his voice a bit cold.
“Who is he?”
Reading the warning in his eyes, I felt a surge of inexplicable irritation.
He already rejected me, so what right does he have to interfere with my interactions with other men?
So I introduced Pei Chenghuan enthusiastically, but when I looked at Jin Beiyan, my face was expressionless.
“My friend, Pei Chenghuan, top of our class in our major. His stomach’s upset, so I brought him back to rest for a bit.”
“He’s my Little Uncle.”
Jin Beiyan’s gaze lingered on me for a moment, then he spoke politely and distantly:
“There’s a guest room prepared upstairs. Let the butler take him up to rest.”
I gave a charming smile, ignoring Jin Beiyan’s gloomy face.
“Little Uncle, he can just stay in my room.”
The next second, Jin Beiyan’s grip on his cup suddenly tightened.
“Nan Yu, do you know what you’re saying?”
Feigning surprise, my smile deepened at the corners of my lips.
“Little Uncle, I have a medicine kit in my room. What are you thinking?”
The atmosphere instantly became strangely tense.
Pei Chenghuan greeted Jin Beiyan politely, as if he didn’t notice Jin Beiyan’s hostility at all.
“Hello, I’m just here to bring Nan Yu her clothes.”
“Clothes?”
“She left them at my place last night.”
The more I listened, the more off this sounded.
Jin Beiyan let out a cold laugh, his narrowed eyes full of danger.
“Shen Nanyu, you spent the night out?”
Realizing Jin Beiyan misunderstood Pei Chenghuan’s words, I didn’t explain. Instead, I deliberately snapped back at him.
“Is it your place to care?”
I glared at him and pulled Pei Chenghuan to sit down with me.
At the dining table.
Jin Beiyan didn’t eat either, just kept picking food for me from time to time.
His gaze was fixed tightly on me, naked and cold.
His stare made me feel vaguely uneasy.
But Pei Chenghuan also kept picking food for me, chatting with a bright smile, completely ignoring Jin Beiyan’s presence.
“Pei, if you’re sick, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible. I’ll have the driver take you.”
“So young and already in poor health, that’s a big problem.”
Jin Beiyan glanced at Pei Chenghuan expressionlessly, his tone full of disdain.
This was a clear order to leave, not even bothering to be polite.
Pei Chenghuan still smiled gently, slowly unscrewing the cap of the grapefruit juice for me before speaking.
“It’s just a minor issue. But Uncle, you’re getting older, you should really pay attention to your health.”
“Otherwise, there’ll be many times when you’re not up to it.”
My brow twitched-Pei Chenghuan’s words were full of gunpowder.
Jin Beiyan’s expression was indifferent, the corners of his lips curving in a half-smile.
“There are advantages to being older. You’re too young, you wouldn’t understand.”
“For a man, the older, the better.”
Jin Beiyan clearly didn’t like Pei Chenghuan, every word was barbed.
I’d seen Jin Beiyan’s methods for dealing with people before, and my heart tightened.
Afraid Pei Chenghuan would say something else to provoke Jin Beiyan, I quickly patted his hand.
“This soup is good, try it.”
Pei Chenghuan looked up at Jin Beiyan, a smile blooming at the corners of his lips, and held my hand in return.
He gripped tightly, and I had to use force to pull away.
Pei Chenghuan had always known his boundaries, but now he seemed oblivious to my discomfort.
I could feel the air around Jin Beiyan growing more and more violent.
The next moment, I suddenly felt a warm sensation on my knee.
A man’s slightly rough palm slid up the inside of my leg.
The tingling sensation shot through me like an electric current, making my whole body tremble.
The dining table was a long rectangle, not wide enough to restrain Jin Beiyan’s boldness.
I bit my lip and glared at him.
Jin Beiyan paused for a moment, then squeezed even harder.
My already taut nerves snapped like a broken string, and my hand holding the spoon shook.
The porcelain spoon suddenly clattered against the bowl and chopsticks, making a jarring sound.
“What’s wrong?”
Pei Chenghuan turned to look at me, puzzled.
Jin Beiyan still smiled nonchalantly, as if he wasn’t the one causing trouble under the table.
His fingers advanced a little further, drawing slow circles, teasing me with bad intentions.
I forced a nervous smile and quickly shook my head.
“Just lost my grip.”
Unable to bear it any longer, I reached down to press Jin Beiyan’s hand away.
But he immediately took control, flipping his palm to firmly grasp mine.
Ignoring my look of despair, Jin Beiyan pried my fingers apart and interlaced them with his.
Jin Beiyan curled his lips shamelessly, and while Pei Chenghuan was looking down at his food, mouthed silently:
“Only allowed to hold my hand.”
I really couldn’t sit still anymore. I wiped my mouth and got up to go to the bathroom.
But as soon as I came out, a warm hand wrapped around my waist.
I was pulled into the dark storage room next door, Jin Beiyan’s breath, mixed with low pants, brushed against my neck.
Before I could cry out in surprise, his kiss came down hard.
He bit my lip in punishment, pinning my wrists above my head.
It hurt, and I whimpered.
At that moment, Pei Chenghuan’s concerned voice sounded.
“Nan Yu, are you okay? Why are you taking so long?”
Jin Beiyan pressed against me, his grip suddenly tightening.
His voice was low and hoarse, his smile both refined and wicked.
“Be good, a little louder.”
