Chapter 8
Bullet comments:
[I even bought a premium membership for this dumb novel. Is there anything my honorable membership can’t see?]
[Damn, I feel nothing watching the tragedy next door, not a ripple–honestly, I almost want to laugh. But when the villain couple shares a kiss, it’s so sweet it makes me cry.]
[Who gets it? This is so intense. Damien’s deep-rooted inferiority complex makes him feel like he’s defiling his white moonlight, guilt maxed out, but he can’t restrain himself physiologically, so he can only stay painfully aware as he sinks.]
[That’s it, after tasting the forbidden fruit, the second male lead can’t leave the supporting female anymore. Scorpio plus Incubus plus yandere, all buffs stacked. I can’t imagine how terrifying Damien’s possessiveness over Lilith will get.]
Damien’s rut lasted a whole week.
By the last few days, I really couldn’t take it anymore. “Maybe… you should just use some medicine.”
Damien’s sticky gaze nearly burned a hole through me, his cool voice inexplicably tinged with grievance:
“Lilith, you still can’t accept it, can you?”
“Of course not,” I rubbed my waist, looked at Damien’s outrageously handsome face, and remembered all the harsh things I’d said to him before. In an instant, my temper vanished.
After all, people always have to pay for the mistakes of their youth.
Resigned, I picked up my bathrobe. “I’ll go shower first.”
Damien clung to me, following, “Okay, let’s go together.”
Me: “……”
These days that were not quite captivity, but even more so, finally turned a corner on the day of the first snow.
Damien had to attend a business banquet in H City.
As his wife, I received an invitation too.
I’d never cared for these events, all drinking, singing carols, and hollow formalities.
But seeing how the business circle snubbed me behind my back, hoping I wouldn’t show up,
I suddenly wanted to go.
If they can’t stand me, then let them watch me shine.
After I changed into my gown, the long-missed bullet comments appeared again:
[Careful, supporting female– the female lead is at this banquet too. By rights, this is when the female lead and the second male’s relationship should deepen.]
[I really don’t get why Lilith Chambers has so many fans now, or why so many want to save her. It’s not like the bad things she did were fake.]
[Heh, because we’re all corporate drones, we just can’t relate to the kind of Mary Sue plot where the whole world loves a useless female lead, no matter how many side characters she tramples. Besides, that Mary Sue isn’t anything good herself.]
“If you regret it, I’ll stay home with you.”
Damien embraced me from behind. In the mirror, the handsome man and beautiful woman looked outrageously well-matched.
Me: “It’s fine, my face is thick enough. Let’s go.”
