Chapter 7
After getting home, I sincerely apologized to the restaurant owner and paid double to compensate for the deposit.
Damien did a quick survey of the house and asked, “Where’s the nanny?”
I spoke up, a little embarrassed, “I had originally booked the restaurant for tonight, so I let the nanny go home early, but I didn’t expect the dinner to run late…”
“It’s fine,” I said with a cheerful smile, opening the app. “Let’s just order some takeout. What do you want to eat?”
Damien said, “Takeout isn’t healthy. What do you want? I can cook.”
“Alright then, how about sweet and sour fish?”
Damien paused for a moment.
I thought I had made things difficult by ordering something complicated, and was about to change it to a simple tomato and egg stir-fry.
The man nodded, a beat late. “Okay, there’s fish in the fridge. You go watch some TV, I’ll be done soon.”
“Oh.”
Damien helped me put on my favorite variety show channel before turning and heading into the kitchen.
During the commercial break, with nothing better to do, I wandered over to the kitchen door.
Through the crack, I saw Damien bring his right hand–the one I’d held earlier–to his lips and kiss it reverently.
Only then did he start washing his hands and preparing the ingredients.
Bullet screen:
[Not afraid of a yandere going psycho, just afraid of a yandere falling for true love. Our second male lead and the female supporting character, those two poor souls, don’t they deserve a good ending! Author, I’m going to mail you razor blades.]
[Suddenly, I don’t want to see the villain couple hate-fuck anymore. If they could just live like this, make love more often, that would be nice.]
[There’s nothing to be done. The heroine’s halo is just too strong. The second male lead is destined to defect to Aurora. The plot is inevitable.]
Comments like these had appeared before. My heart skipped a beat, and I couldn’t focus on the show anymore.
Luckily, Damien’s sweet and sour fish was ready just then.
I eagerly took several big bites, then looked over at the man sitting upright beside me:
“Last time, when Aurora and I fell into the sea and I had a fever of forty degrees, the nanny brought over a bowl of sweet and sour fish. Was it actually you who made it?”
“No,” Damien reminded, “No talking while eating.”
But unfortunately, “obedience” simply isn’t in my vocabulary, so I pressed on:
“Did you have the negative comments deleted, too? Some people say I’m your white moonlight. When did you start liking me, did we know each other before?”
“Lilith…”
It was the first time Damien had called my name.
I pouted. “Fine, if you say no, then no. I’m full, I’m going to call Flynn and check if he’s home yet.”
I left the table, pretending to pick up my phone and dial.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of a blade dropping to the floor.
I turned around. Damien was holding his fingertip, a bead of blood welling up, his eyes looking elsewhere, thick lashes trembling. “It’s nothing, don’t mind me.”
I put down my phone, fetched a band-aid and some gauze from the first aid kit, and sat down in front of Damien. “You’re bleeding, how can it be nothing? Does it hurt? Give me your hand.”
Bullet screen:
[Alright, alright, now I know why some guys can’t spot a green tea. That little look, I could study it for a lifetime.]
[Supporting female, stop teasing the second male lead with stuff like this. He’s not normal, he can’t take it. Push him too far and it’s straight to the black room warning.]
[Damien, bro, open a class. I’ll kneel and learn.]
“Done.” I tied a playful butterfly knot with the gauze.
“Thank you.” His voice was hoarse, breathing growing hotter and heavier.
But this time, Damien clearly had some experience. “I’m going to the study for a bit.”
“Wait,” I pressed him back down on the stool, “I saw online that if you take too much of that medicine, it’s bad for your body. It can make you, you know, not work.”
For the first time, Damien explained so quickly, “There are some side effects, but not the ones they’re talking about.”
As our skin touched, the markings on his body started to appear again. He grabbed for his jacket to cover up, but I stopped him.
I swung my leg over and straddled him, tracing the faintly visible Incubus mark at his collarbone:
“It looks really nice.”
I praised him from the bottom of my heart.
“Flynn, do you know what you’re doing? Get down,” Damien almost ground out each word through gritted teeth.
“No,” I shifted my hips back and forth, putting on a seductive expression, my voice coy and husky:
“Honey, we’re a legal couple. You can do anything you want to me.”
Damien’s tail wrapped around my body, hot breath spraying by my ear. “Lilith Chambers, don’t do this, you’ll regret it.”
“I won’t. I told you, I’m willing.”
Bullet screen: [Damien, your mouth says no but your tail is honest. Didn’t even give the female supporting character a chance to escape, bro.]
[Supporting female, you are my goddess! Twisted lovers need home-invasion-level passion–if it doesn’t kill you, do it to the death, do it big for me.]
My lips were crushed in a fierce kiss.
Damien scooped me up by the waist and carried me to the bed.
He grabbed my restless hands and pinned them above my head.
My vision blurred little by little. The man gently kissed away the tears at the corners of my eyes, whispering in guilt:
“I’m sorry, I still dirtied you…”
Feebly, I pushed at his chest, forced to take it again and again:
“Damien, stop, it’s so hot… not there, you can’t…”
“Lilith, be good, call my name a few more times, it’ll be over soon.”
Obediently, I called out softly: “Damien, Honey, Master…”
“Good girl…”
Liar, big liar.
Since when does “soon” mean three hours later!
