Chapter 10
[It’s coming, it’s coming, the big reveal is coming. Previously, Aurora had no idea about Damien’s true identity, always giving the second male lead warmth like a little sun. In the second male lead’s heart, she might not be less important than the female supporting character.]
[The person above, are you referring to Aurora mistaking Damien for someone poor and buying a cup of hot milk only to spill it all over the second male lead? Well, it was indeed warm, in the physical sense.]
[Sometimes, the female lead really seems a bit manipulative. Just look at the second male lead with all those luxury items; does he look like someone who can’t afford a meal? Yet, all the men in the book seem to fall for her tricks. Sigh.]
Flynn looked puzzled: “Rory, do you know Damien?”
Aurora nodded, her expression becoming increasingly pitiful:
“I never thought Mr. Sinclair, such a good person, would be with…”
“Would be with a girl like me, right.” I coldly completed Aurora’s sentence.
Aurora was still immersed in shock, her expression somewhat dazed:
“Mr. Sinclair, so you always knew the person I complained to you about, who bullied me, was Lilith Chambers.”
Damien: “I knew.”
Aurora looked even more confused: “And you think what she did was right?”
“It’s not right.”
Aurora’s lips curled slightly, a fleeting glint of triumph in her eyes.
But I caught it.
Flynn, who had been humiliated by me before, now seemed to seize the opportunity for revenge:
“Lilith, how about it? Everyone’s here today, it’s not too late to apologize.”
I firmly enunciated:
“I’m a straightforward person; if I do something wrong, I’ll admit it. Aurora, you can hate me, mess with me, or take revenge on me. But I will never apologize.”
Comments:
[Is the female lead’s aura really that powerful? Parents, childhood friends, and now even the second male lead might turn against us. Is Lilith really going to be all alone?]
[Have the villain couple worked so hard only to face a hate-fuck fate? I admit I was pretending when I said I liked the captivity play before. As a CP fan, I still hope they have a happy ending. Especially the female supporting character, I’ve really become a fan of her.]
I thought after everything I’ve been through, I had become strong and composed enough.
But I still couldn’t control my thunderous heartbeat.
Damien gently wrapped his arm around my waist, softly patting:
“Lilith has indeed done some wrong things. She’s not a morally perfect person; she has a bit of a princess temper, is proud, and acts recklessly.”
“But so what? I love her.”
“And those things you just mentioned, that’s the Lilith Chambers in your eyes. In my eyes, she’s the best person in the world, and I’m the one who’s lucky to have her.”
This was the first time I heard “I love you” from Damien’s mouth.
After he finished speaking, the room was filled with astonishment.
Aurora’s face looked terrible, “Mr. Sinclair, how… how can you be so blind…”
“Since you want to be so clear-cut, why not first answer a few questions Lilith asked you before. Why did you interfere when Flynn still had an engagement? Why did you try every means to destroy Lilith’s relationships with her parents and friends, and take her place?”
“Don’t you know these things are wrong, yet you still did them? If Lilith were truly malicious, she should have spread all these things around, instead of engaging in petty quarrels with you over trivial matters.”
“Aurora, before judging others, why not first see if you are truly a pure and flawless piece of paper. Before demanding others to apologize, see if you are truly guilt-free.”
Aurora was left speechless, only managing to reply weakly after a long pause:
“The one not loved is the third party. Lilith Chambers may have lost the engagement and the Chen family’s inheritance rights, but I almost lost love.”
The comments and onlookers couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
