My Contract Husband Won't Behave - Chapter 66
Nie Jingzhi wore no makeup today, so there was no trace of lipstick on her lips.
Yet Bo Jiusi tasted an unusual sweetness.
“What’s that flavor?” He frowned and released her.
“Taste again.”
He caught her lips and sucked lightly. “Candy?”
“Mm. I had a lemon drop before I fell asleep.”
“Where did you get it?” He could smell lemon on her breath.
Nie Jingzhi hugged his back, a probing note entering her voice. “From your assistants’ office. They bought a pile of candies for visitors. Didn’t you know?”
“I never go there,” he answered between kisses.
The answer pleased her, and she was about to reward him when he added, “You should go there less too.”
She stopped. “Why?”
He did not answer. Instead, he pinched her chin in warning. “Focus.”
“You consulted the doctor?”
“Mm.”
Aside from mild anemia, Nie Jingzhi’s prenatal exam results had all been good. The doctor had said some sexual activity was safe.
“I want to be on top,” she declared.
Bo Jiusi remembered the night on the cruise when this woman had pinned him down. His face darkened. “No.”
She coaxed him. “You’re a man. Be generous.”
“Go ahead and call me a beast.” He imprisoned her in his arms, refusing to let her move.
Determined to reclaim control, she put on an aggrieved expression. “There’s a baby in my belly. What if you crush it?”
She always took advantage of him this way.
His Adam’s apple rolled. “Only this once.”
Triumph filled her face. Just as they were about to begin, his phone rang on the nightstand. A name at once strange and familiar lit the screen.
Nie Jingzhi’s face stiffened for an instant.
Bo Jiusi caught the flash in her eyes. He idly rubbed her waist. “Whose call has upset you again?”
“Bo Shiyun,” she said. “Your sister?”
His movements stopped abruptly. He reached for the phone, brows drawing together.
“Aren’t you answering, Master Jiu?”
He declined the call, powered off the phone, tossed it aside, and pulled her back into his arms to continue kissing her.
“Don’t get distracted.”
But her gaze remained fixed on some distant point. “If I called you in the future, would you hang up on me too?”
Realizing she was still distracted, he answered venomously, “Not even if I were in someone else’s bed.”
She whipped around and glared. “You’re sick. I’m in your bed, and you’re already thinking about getting into someone else’s?”
He stated evenly, “You’re lying in my arms, yet who knows which wild man you’re thinking about?”
She choked again. “I’m not thinking about any wild man.”
She licked her lips.
Bo Jiusi lifted his head and narrowed his eyes.
Her panic worsened. “What?”
“Why did you swallow?”
“I’m allowed to swallow. My mouth is dry.”
He sneered. “Show me that guilty expression one more time.”
Cornered, she wailed, “You’re bullying me! You’re overbearing, tyrannical—a robber and a bandit! I’m leaving!”
She shoved him away and threw off the covers to get out of bed.
Bo Jiusi groaned.
“What happened? Where does it hurt? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it!”
At the sight of his thunderous expression, she apologized frantically.
He stared at her coldly. “Try gloating again.”
“I wasn’t! I swear!” She raised three fingers.
Bo Jiusi drew a deep breath, his pitch-black gaze piercing. “Do you want to do this or not?”
“I… do.” She swallowed again.
Seeing it, he laughed without warmth. “Get up.”
She knew he had seen through her and gave up pretending. Reaching for his hand, she said, “Master Jiu, I… don’t feel well today. Another day? Can we do it another day?”
He withdrew his hand. “Don’t explain. Get dressed.”
He was throwing her out. With a sigh, she sat up and gathered her clothes from the floor.
She struggled with her bra clasp for ages. Bo Jiusi shut his eyes, exhaled, then reached over and fastened it.
Her cheeks reddened. “Thank you.”
“Stay silent. Hearing your voice gives me a headache right now.”
She pouted. What had she said wrong? Was she only permitted to breathe in front of him now?
Stone-faced, he helped her put on each garment. Soon she was fully dressed while he remained thoroughly disheveled.
Apparently with no intention of dressing, he leaned against the headboard, looking somewhat world-weary. “Go. I’ll have Feng Wu take you home.”
She sat at the bed’s edge and bit her lip. “You aren’t taking me?”
He glanced down at himself. “How am I supposed to take you like this?”
Nie Jingzhi followed his gaze and fell silent.
“Then I’m leaving. Deal with it yourself. We’ll make another appointment.”
She sprang up and fled.
Watching her escape, Bo Jiusi clenched the hand hidden beneath the blanket.
She had initiated it and cooperated eagerly. Then Bo Shiyun’s call came, and suddenly she had become a different person.
What exactly was wrong?
For once, he could not read her.
Irritated, Bo Jiusi switched his phone back on. Unable to reach him, Bo Shiyun had nearly blown up his WeChat.
He opened it with a frown.
*Why aren’t you answering? What is going on?*
*Did you get married? Why didn’t you tell me? I’m your own sister! I had to hear something this important from someone else. Do you know how humiliating that is?*
*You said you’d never marry! Why so suddenly? Did you deliberately wait until I left the country? Who is that woman?*
*Bo Jiusi! I’m going out of my mind! Call me when you see this!*
The barrage of exclamation points kept coming. He glanced over the messages, gave no reply, and set the phone facedown on the nightstand.
Closing his eyes, he forced himself to calm down.
Half an hour later, the phone vibrated again. This time, Feng Wu was calling.
Bo Jiusi answered, his tone restored to its usual coolness. “Speak.”
