My Contract Husband Won't Behave - Chapter 65
Nie Jingzhi said nothing. Believing she had guessed correctly, Lin Wanrou exchanged a glance with her friend, both faces full of mockery.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over them. A chill raced down Lin Wanrou’s back.
Sensing something wrong, she slowly turned. The moment she saw Bo Jiusi’s stormy face, she and her friend screamed.
“Ah—!”
Nie Jingzhi nearly laughed at their expressions, as though they had seen a ghost.
Bo Jiusi frowned at the noise. “Shut up.”
Both women fell instantly silent, their faces sour as though they had swallowed flies.
After glancing at Nie Jingzhi, Bo Jiusi focused on Lin Wanrou. “You?”
She froze, then brightened with flattered delight. “M-Master Jiu, you know me…”
“Were you the one screeching last time?”
Her voice caught. She remembered the class reunion, when Bo Jiusi had overheard her mocking Nie Jingzhi over the phone.
“Master Jiu, I—”
“Stay far away from her. If I see you upset her again, it would be very easy to make you disappear.”
Violence churned in his gaze. Lin Wanrou went deathly pale and stood frozen.
He walked past them, bent, and swept Nie Jingzhi into his arms before she could react.
She glanced at Lin Wanrou and deliberately kissed his cheek. “My husband is so handsome.”
Bo Jiusi lowered his dark gaze to her, then strode away.
Lin Wanrou bit her lip until her face shifted between green and white. Only after the couple disappeared did the crushing pressure lift.
Her friend tugged her sleeve. “Wanrou, was that… Bo Jiusi?”
“Yes.” Her face was paper-white. “The madman from the Bo family in the capital. Nie Jingzhi managed to latch onto him!”
She stared after them, eyes burning with resentment.
“Don’t be angry. I have an idea,” her friend said.
“What?”
“Bo Jiusi has a younger sister, Bo Shiyun. She’s famously spoiled among the capital’s socialites. She recently went abroad, didn’t she? She probably doesn’t know her brother found himself such a shamelessly flirtatious woman.”
Everyone who knew Bo Shiyun knew she was willful and arrogant, spoiled rotten by her brother. She looked down on everyone. If she learned another woman had stolen him, wouldn’t she turn the world upside down?
Lin Wanrou’s eyes gleamed. “You have her contact?”
“We had dinner once. I added her on WeChat.”
“Then what are you waiting for? Message her!”
Her friend found Bo Shiyun’s account.
*Shiyun, guess whom I saw at the hospital? Your brother was accompanying a woman to a prenatal checkup. She’s quite arrogant and calls herself Mrs. Bo.*
No reply came immediately. Lin Wanrou watched the screen with a satisfied smile.
“Let’s go. Someone will deal with her sooner or later.”

Bo Jiusi carried Nie Jingzhi all the way out of the hospital. The harsh sunlight made her frown.
He noticed and pressed her closer to his chest. Feeling her stiffen in his arms, his lips curved almost imperceptibly as he strode to the car.
The temperature inside was comfortable, but Nie Jingzhi feared the sun. Even that short distance had reddened her skin.
“Park in the underground garage next time,” he ordered the driver.
The driver saw the woman protected in his arms through the mirror, realized his mistake, and answered apologetically.
Bo Jiusi took a cool towel from the built-in refrigerator and soothed her heated skin, carefully wiping each of her fingers clean.
Nie Jingzhi knew his obsession with cleanliness was acting up. After visiting a hospital, he always felt contaminated by germs. Yet when they had first met, he had warned her not to cross his boundaries or he would chop off her paws.
At that thought, her stomach growled loudly.
Embarrassed, she hid her face against him until only her red ears showed. “I had to fast for the blood test, so I skipped breakfast.”
He did not tease her. “Find a quiet restaurant nearby,” he told the driver.
Before the driver could answer, Feng Wu reminded him quietly, “Master Jiu, you have a meeting this morning…”
Bo Jiusi never changed his plans for anyone. The prenatal appointment had already consumed half his morning.
His brows pulled together. “Can’t it be postponed?”
He owned the company and had the final word, but the meeting was urgent. Feng Wu struggled to phrase his objection.
Nie Jingzhi tugged on Bo Jiusi’s lapel. “Go to your meeting. I’ll come to the office and wait. We can eat lunch together afterward. Best of both worlds.”
He looked down at her. “Can you hold out that long?”
“It’s almost ten.”
“The little one in your belly can’t.” His tone allowed no argument. He would not let her go hungry.
He ordered the driver to the restaurant, and Nie Jingzhi could only submit.
When they arrived, Bo Jiusi got out and opened her door. The instant she scooted toward it, he bent and lifted her again.
“What are you doing?”
At the hospital, she could understand him carrying her to humiliate Lin Wanrou. Why carry her at the restaurant? Had he become addicted?
“The doctor said you’re anemic. You missed breakfast. I’m carrying you so you don’t faint.”
She fell speechless, then had to admit his logic was sound. She valued her health and saw no need to prove anything, so she let him carry her inside without protest.
Only then did she discover an elegant waterfront restaurant with a beautiful view, serving both Chinese and Western dishes. She could choose whatever she liked.
Nie Jingzhi loved the sea. Sitting by the window before that endless blue expanse lifted her mood.
When her features relaxed, warmth entered Bo Jiusi’s eyes. He lowered his head to order.
After breakfast, he had to go to the company. He never offered to take her home; she never mentioned it. In silent agreement, she went with him.
While he attended his meeting, she waited in his office. Pregnancy had left her more easily tired, and she fell asleep on the sofa.
The air-conditioning was strong. As she curled against the cold, a light blanket settled over her. Then someone lifted her—blanket and all—and carried her into the private lounge.
The moment she touched the bed, she woke. Seeing the man above her carefully withdraw his arms, she gave a soft murmur and looped her arms around his neck.
Her lashes fluttered lazily. “Do you have anything else to do?”
“Some documents. About half an hour. I’ll take you to lunch at twelve.”
“We just ate, and you want to eat again?” she grumbled in a slow, sleepy voice.
“What do you want to do?”
“A little exercise. Help digestion.”
His gaze darkened, but he refused her invitation. “I have documents to handle.”
She leaned forward and kissed him, coaxing lazily, “Can’t they wait?”
Veins rose along the arm braced against the mattress. His hand steadied her waist while his face remained coolly restrained.
“Don’t tease me like this again.”
Then he bit her lip.
