My Contract Husband Won't Behave - Chapter 61
“You don’t need to concern yourself. I have plans.” Bo Jiusi’s tone was indifferent.
His old aloofness returned: he did not want to explain anything to her or let her become involved.
Nie Jingzhi watched without speaking.
Noticing, he added quietly, “There are unresolved matters between Old Master Bo and me.”
Then he took a sip of water.
Feng Wu nearly dropped the documents. After years beside Master Jiu, he knew the man explained himself to no one. He begrudged even one extra word. Yet today he had voluntarily given Miss Nie a reason.
She did not notice Feng Wu’s expression. She considered the statement.
She had long known the old master held something over Bo Jiusi. Otherwise, he would not have been pressured to marry the Wang daughter and finally resorted to marrying her. She still did not know what leverage the old master had. Bo Jiusi’s refusal to tell her meant it must be painful to discuss. Even the closest spouses kept some secrets from each other; she understood and did not press.
“You intend to use the recording as leverage?”
He looked at her.
“Will it be dangerous?”
“No.”
She nodded, asked nothing more, and resumed her congee.
Silence settled. Bo Jiusi gave Feng Wu a cool look.
Feng Wu finally understood, gathered his files, and tactfully moved to the door. “I’ll arrange the return trip, Mr. Bo.”
Alone, Nie Jingzhi glanced at Bo Jiusi over her bowl, then drank with a curving mouth. He picked up his chopsticks and continued his cooling breakfast.
They sat face to face in warm harmony.
She finished the last of her congee and sighed in satisfaction. “I’m full.”
“That’s all?”
“Pregnant women eat small, frequent meals.” She stood and stretched. “Let’s go home, Master Jiu.”

They went directly from the hotel to the airport. At security, Nie Jingzhi examined her boarding pass.
“First class? The most expensive cabin on Jinghua Airlines?”
Walking beside her and watching the path, he said, “Three hours. Sitting too long might hurt your back.”
She studied him. “Why aren’t you using Feng Wu as an excuse this time?”
His step faltered.
“Give me the money instead. I’ll fly economy and use the savings for a beauty-club membership. Both sides win.”
He finally looked at her. “The heiress of Nie Group grabs such tiny advantages?”
“If I don’t take advantage of my husband, whose should I take?”
His gaze deepened. *Husband* came increasingly naturally from her mouth.
He transferred two hundred thousand yuan. “Enough?”
She smiled at the payment. “Who am I to ask for more?”
He simply handed her his black card. “Use this.”
That surprised her. But they were married; spending her husband’s money was perfectly natural. Otherwise, why marry him?
If anyone asked whether she married Bo Jiusi for love, or for money and power—sorry. She wanted all three.
She accepted openly.
In the broad first-class seat, she reclined while the flight attendant brought a hot towel and welcome drink. Bo Jiusi placed them beside her.
She watched the runway retreat. By the time the plane pierced the clouds, she slept.
Bo Jiusi lowered his magazine and looked over. Her sleeping face was quiet, lashes slightly curled, relaxed lips holding a hint of a smile as though her dream amused her.
He covered her with a blanket and returned to the magazine.
For a long time, he did not turn the page.

After landing in the capital, he ordered the driver to take her home first.
At the Nie villa, she said, “I’m here.”
“Mm.”
His indifferent expression displeased her. She pulled his collar, leaned over, and kissed his cheek.
“Don’t act as if parting means nothing.”
“How should I act?”
Previously he would ignore such words. Delighted by his willingness to learn, she looped his neck lazily, teaching him romance. “Show reluctance.”
He clicked his tongue, studying her languidly seductive face. “This isn’t parting.”
“What is it?”
“Get out.”
She kissed him again. “Pick me up tomorrow. I have a prenatal appointment.”
Without waiting for agreement, she stepped out. He caught only a flash of her apricot-colored skirt before she gently shut the door and walked through the gates without looking back.
Bo Jiusi found the hair clip she had dropped, examined it, and curled his fingers around it.
Inside, Nie Jingzhi stopped. Xu Wei sat on the sofa with Auntie Xue attending, looking over her teacup.
“Where were you last night?”
Nie Jingzhi changed shoes, sat opposite her mother, and ate a strawberry. “How old am I?”
“Twenty-six. Why?”
“Exactly. Someone might think I’m sixteen if one night away requires a report.”
Xu Wei frowned. “You’re pregnant.”
“Don’t worry. I was with the baby’s father.”
“Bo Jiusi?” Xu Wei glanced outside. “He brought you home? You and he lately…”
“Mom.” Nie Jingzhi interrupted vaguely. “I accompanied him out of town. A contract had problems and I couldn’t reach him, so I went. Nothing serious.”
Before Xu Wei could continue, Nie Jingzhi headed upstairs. “I’m exhausted. Ask tonight.”
She shut her bedroom door and leaned against it in relief. Her mother’s eyes were too sharp. Two more questions would expose her.
Throwing herself into bed, she messaged Bo Jiusi: *Park farther behind next time.*
Usually indifferent to messages, he replied instantly: *?*
*We’re secretly married, remember? I haven’t told Mom. Park somewhere hidden when you pick me up so she doesn’t discover us.*
After several seconds came an ellipsis.
Something felt wrong.
In the car, Bo Jiusi stared at her words, his face sinking.
Secret marriage? When had he said that?
Whenever others asked whether he was married, he never denied it. He wore her ring and never removed it.
She was pinning that label on him—or did she simply not want her mother to discover them?
Bo Jiusi put down the phone and irritably turned his prayer beads.
Hadn’t she said she loved him?
