chapter 2
The boy walked all the way to the school gate and stopped beside a black Cayenne, frowning as he asked, “Where are you going? I’ll give you a ride.”
“I…” I was about to say the address for my tutoring job, but then I remembered I’d just received two hundred thousand, so I quickly changed my answer: “I’m going back to the dorm.”
“Alright, then I won’t drive you. There’s four hundred thousand on the card, plus the two hundred thousand I just transferred. For the next three months, you’re my girlfriend. Any problem with that?”
I gripped the bank card tightly and shook my head, “No.”
The boy pulled up his friend QR code again, “Add me.”
I hurriedly added him as a friend, and thoughtfully wrote in the request:
“I’m your girlfriend.”
He accepted my friend request and put away his phone.
“Alright, that’s it for now. If anything comes up, I’ll message you on WeChat. I’m leaving.”
I stood there dumbfounded, not snapping out of it until that patch of black disappeared from sight.
With my luck-never even winning a free drink with a bottle purchase-did something this good really just happen to me?
I picked up my phone and checked my balance again.
