chapter 16
In less than half a year, my Notebook titled “Sponsor’s Preferences” was already densely filled with notes.
I had become increasingly skilled at playing the role of the girlfriend.
I knew everything about what Song Yan liked to eat, drink, play with, and even the personalities of his friends and his mother. I had them all figured out.
I catered to his preferences, upheld the virtues of a good girlfriend every day, and never made him jealous.
I had also thoroughly studied the “Ten Rules Every Smart Woman Must Know”: I never checked his phone, never questioned his whereabouts, and gave him plenty of freedom.
Whenever there was a disagreement between us, it was usually Song Yan complaining that I gave him too much freedom.
In my spare time, I would go to Song Yan’s Villa, because he insisted that I cook for him personally.
There was even one time when I ran into Song Yan’s mother at home. Auntie was very warm, and with me there, Song Yan didn’t seem so awkward. We got along quite well.
Unknowingly, I had completely integrated into his life.
If it weren’t for the more than a million yuan in my bank account, I would have almost forgotten that there was still a financial relationship between us.
During the National Day holiday, with nowhere to go, I was bored in the dormitory until Song Yan dragged me back to his little Villa.
While waiting for him at the school gate, the tech-savvy beauty I hadn’t seen in a while appeared again.
She stepped on her high heels, giving me and Song Yan, who were sitting on the motorcycle, a look of utter disdain, then gracefully got into a convertible sports car, which roared away.
“My bike is way more expensive than that crappy sports car. What’s she showing off for? Hold on tight to me.” As soon as he finished speaking, the motorcycle roared off.
I hugged Song Yan’s waist tightly. Through his thin T-shirt, I couldn’t help but notice that his waist felt a bit odd, so I curiously touched it a little longer.
“Why is the fat on your stomach so hard?”
“That’s my damn abs! Have you touched enough yet?”
“Oh.” Embarrassed, I withdrew my hand, only to see that the convertible had awkwardly stalled in the middle of the road, with no sign of the driver. It looked like the car had broken down.
Song Yan slowed down, and I immediately played along.
“Senior Sister, take your time waiting. We’re leaving now, bye~”
Song Yan sped up and roared away.
On the way to the Villa, a phrase floated through my mind.
“If my husband gets into a fight, I hand him the knife; if he curses someone out, I shout along.”
But what I never expected was that if my husband cheated, I would even have to serve him during Postpartum Confinement.
