chapter 11
The three of us took a taxi straight to the Shopping Mall.
Xuanxuan comes from a well-off family and knows a lot about luxury goods. She picked out some basic styles of clothes and bags for me, all suited to my figure and temperament.
After a round of shopping, the three of us walked out carrying bags of all sizes. We hadn’t gone far when Chen Jiajia suddenly whispered, “Sisi, look to your left. I think that’s Song Yan. Why is there a woman next to him? He just made it official and now he’s cheating?”
I quickly turned my head for a discreet glance.
Song Yan was walking ahead impatiently with his hands in his pockets. The woman beside him was hard to see clearly, but she was strikingly fair-skinned, holding onto his arm and struggling to keep up in high heels.
Xuanxuan rolled up her sleeves. “It really is him. And he has the nerve to walk this way? I’ll go curse out the Mistress for you.”
“No, no, no,” I hurriedly grabbed Xuanxuan, pulled out sunglasses and a hat from my shopping bag, put them on, and bent over, sneaking away with the two of them. “Let’s go, quick, don’t let him see me.”
The three of us tugged each other into a luxury boutique.
I poked my head out secretly to scout the enemy.
Xuanxuan, annoyed, pulled me back and took off my sunglasses.
“Seriously, I don’t get it. Who’s cheating here? Why are you running faster than him? What’s going on?”
“Of course he’s cheating, but I can’t let him know I know he’s cheating. What if he gets angry and wants to break up with me? Where else am I going to find someone like him?”
Xuanxuan gave me a thumbs up. “I was being petty.”
The three of us shamelessly stayed in the boutique until closing time, making sure we wouldn’t run into Song Yan before sneaking back out.
Not long after we got back to the dorm, Song Yan sent me a message.
“Did you go out today?”
I denied it flatly. “No.”
With two hundred thousand at stake, there’s no way I’d admit it.
