Chapter 59 - The Five Elements Emperor Technique
Dust filled the air, obscuring everyone’s view. After a moment, it settled back to the ground. Leng Yan stood on the arena, a cold smile playing at the corner of his mouth, and said, “What? Had enough fun yet? Now it’s my turn to strike! Fire Spirit Seal!”
With the Fire Spirit Seal unleashed, the entire village was enveloped in an intense heat. On the arena, a massive flaming hand, over fifty yards in length, appeared in an instant.
The hand was ablaze with raging flames, drawing in the fire from the ground and surrounding bonfires, descending like a towering mountain.
“This is the Leng Yan I know, so damn mighty, haha!” Chu Jianfeng’s face glowed red from the firelight, as he grinned and remarked.
“This is the Scarlet Flame Emperor Technique! How is this possible? How could he have mastered both the Scarlet Flame Emperor Technique and the Blackwater Emperor Technique? Both of these cultivation techniques are the Five Elements Sect’s most guarded scriptures. Even regular elders of the sect are not necessarily qualified to learn them. How could he learn both at the same time? Is he possibly a disciple of one of those Supreme Elders of the Five Elements Sect? If so, this is going to get tricky. Those few Supreme Elders all have a cultivation level of Void Tribulation,” Mo Sang thought, feeling shocked internally.
On the arena, Hao Ge’s shock had yet to subside. He hadn’t anticipated that Leng Yan had been concealing his strength all along. Now, faced with Leng Yan’s full-force attack, Hao Ge felt overwhelmed, and the battle intent within him began to waver.
The enormous flaming hand descended upon Hao Ge with overwhelming pressure. Hao Ge shouted, and essence blood flowed from his fingers as he drew another blood seal in the air, attempting to absorb Leng Yan’s magical technique.
Such an attempt made Leng Yan smirk suddenly. With a cold voice, he retorted, “Don’t use the same trick on me twice!”
The blood seal had just formed, but it suddenly vanished without a trace from the arena.
“A teleportation seal! You used a teleportation seal to transfer my blood seal elsewhere! Blood’s Guardianship!” Hao Ge had not expected Leng Yan to break his blood seal in such a manner. While he stood in shock, Leng Yan’s Fire Spirit Seal had already descended, prompting Hao Ge to quickly activate a defensive magical technique.
A blood-red altar formed around Hao Ge, centered on him with four stone pillars surrounding it. The pillars were etched with numerous seal patterns, and in the air above the altar, a blood-red bat materialized, spreading its gigantic wings to shield Hao Ge within.
“Boom! Boom!”
The Fire Spirit Seal descended, striking the altar. It was as if a massive blood-red bat was struggling to escape the grasp of the scarlet flaming hand, as streams of fire burst forth.
At this moment, the two forces clashed intensely, creating a thunderous sound. The blood-red bat was the first to falter, emitting an ear-piercing screech, while Hao Ge, protected beneath it, gritted his teeth and murmured something under his breath. Suddenly, azure energy surged from all directions, pouring into the altar as if nourishing the bat.
“Is this a sacrifice?”
Leng Yan’s spiritual awareness followed the azure energy back to its source, a vast breeding ground housing thousands of low-level demonic beasts. These beasts were now drained of their essence, reduced to mere skeletons. Sensing the death energy from their companions, the remaining beasts grew agitated, running around in a frenzy.
Leng Yan wasted no opportunity, swirling the death energy into his Nine Yin Fiend God Technique.
“Do you think this will hold me back? Breaking Dawn Slash, break for me!” Leng Yan leapt up, hands clasped above his head, as a mass of golden light coalesced into a shining great blade.
The formation of this blade stunned Mo Sang once more, his hands trembling slightly, eyes filled with greed. “The Purple Gold Emperor Technique-he also knows the Purple Gold Emperor Technique! Three of the Five Elements Emperor Techniques have emerged. Could this kid also know the Azure Wood Emperor Technique and the Yellow Earth Emperor Technique? If that’s the case, I can’t even begin to comprehend who this kid is. The Five Elements Emperor Technique-if I could obtain it, I could break through the void calamity in a short time,” Mo Sang pondered. But when he thought of the people backing Leng Yan, his spiritual mind shuddered. “I must stay calm. Even if we don’t mention anything else, any one Supreme Elder from the Five Elements Sect is not something our Barbarian Tribe can withstand. Even if I break through, I fear my life would not last long.”
“Elder, the Five Elements Emperor Technique, should we…” Sang Tu clenched his fists tightly, his excitement evident. Mo Sang’s face showed a hint of reluctance for a while but eventually, he shook his head and transmitted a message to the four via sound transmission: “Don’t act recklessly. The power behind him is not something we can afford to provoke.”
Sang Wen and the other three, seeing this, wore expressions of disappointment but were helpless.
Meanwhile, Chu Jianfeng appeared to be engrossed in eating and drinking, but his eyes never left Mo Sang and his group. When he saw their expressions shift from greed to apprehension, the weight on his heart felt somewhat lifted. He sighed inwardly, thinking how perilous Leng Yan’s ploy was this time. Had those five let their greed blind them, he and Leng Yan would have been in grave danger. However, upon seeing Mo Sang sigh and gesture to stand down, Chu Jianfeng knew their lives were spared, and he smiled slightly, turning his attention back to Leng Yan’s battle.
The golden blade, like a flash of lightning, pierced through the Fire Spirit Seal and struck the bat’s body.
Under the double assault from Leng Yan, Hao Ge finally couldn’t hold on. Blood trickled from his mouth, the altar showed signs of cracking, and the bat dissolved into blood-red energy, dispersing into the heavens and earth.
“So, how about it? Care to continue?” Leng Yan dusted off his sleeves with an amused expression.
“Ene…ruk…wulu…” Hao Ge wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his face pale, muttering words that Leng Yan couldn’t understand. Leng Yan looked at Mo Sang, waiting for a translation with a puzzled look.
“He said you’re sly, hiding your strength, and that your victory wasn’t honorable,” Mo Sang said, rubbing his hands back and forth on the armrests.
“Oh! That’s what he meant! In my mind, it’s simply about winners and losers-honor doesn’t factor in. I like doing things with certainty, so having a few tricks up my sleeve is only natural. Just like when I came to your territory; without some cards, how could one play safely under the eyes of so many experts?” Leng Yan’s words were aimed at Mo Sang, intended to convey that he had more tricks in reserve. If Mo Sang wanted to kill him, he wasn’t afraid. And should Mo Sang feud with him, he should anticipate endless retribution.
Mo Sang was indeed a shrewd old fox. Although Leng Yan’s words, spoken as a junior, irked him, the formidable power backing Leng Yan was not something he wished to provoke. However, this didn’t mean he would just let Leng Yan go on being arrogant.
“I invited you both here sincerely as guests, with no ill intentions. However, our tribe has a rule: anyone who steps into the arena must give their all. You’ve held back your strength, so how about another round?” Mo Sang said with a smile.
“With all my strength? Alright, let’s go all out then!” Leng Yan replied with a smile.
“You appear to be at the true essence realm, yet your strength rivals that of the initial stage of the Heavenly Realm. We’ll send out a member of our tribe at the initial stage of the Heavenly Realm. You can’t claim we’re bullying you,” Mo Sang said, stroking his beard and smiling.
“Senior, your keen insight is impressive. Though my strength is concealed by my master’s seal, it can’t escape your sharp eyes. At my peak, I can indeed contend with someone in the Heavenly Realm. However, isn’t just battling a bit dull? Why not make a wager?” Leng Yan suggested provocatively.
Upon hearing this, some members of the Barbarian Tribe began to murmur among themselves, and Mo Sang, intrigued, asked, “Interesting. So what do you propose we wager on?”
“Nothing too big. A low-grade treasure tool will do!” Leng Yan replied, holding a golden purple bell and giving it a gentle shake, its chimes echoing.
“A magical treasure? Haha! Sure, let’s wager magical treasures. This is a middle-grade treasure I crafted a century ago. If you win, it’s yours,” Mo Sang said, holding a long black needle covered in blood seals. It seemed Mo Sang was confident Leng Yan couldn’t unravel the mystery of the blood seal, which made him comfortable offering it as a bet, not to mention he didn’t think they would lose.
Leng Yan’s interest was precisely in obtaining a magical treasure with blood seals for his own research.
“Then let’s begin!” Leng Yan said with a smile, eyeing the black needle.
Supported by a few young Barbarian women, Hao Ge stepped down from the arena. A beautiful woman in leather attire then stepped up, signifying the start of another battle!
