Chapter 6
I had never seen Chen Sui like that before, so violent that I almost felt dazed.
If he’d had a knife on him, I was convinced he would have chopped Mu Zejia to pieces.
That night, at our club’s dinner, Mu Zejia, as the outgoing president, surprisingly showed up as well.
During the whole meal, he didn’t say a word to me, as if he didn’t know me at all.
Of course, I was glad for that.
But when most people had left and only a few remained, Mu Zejia got drunk.
On the way back, taking advantage of the late hour and the empty streets, he insisted on dragging me along, claiming he couldn’t walk anymore and wanted to stay at the nearby hotel.
I tried my hardest to shake off his grip on my wrist but his hand didn’t budge at all.
“It’s not like that, Qiao Xi.” He looked at me, clearly intoxicated.
“You must have slept with Chen Sui already, right? Why are you still pretending? We were together for a while-what’s wrong with sleeping with me once?”
My wrist hurt from his grip, and I was forced to take another step closer to him.
“Mu Zejia, you’re not sober right now, let go of me!”
He ignored me, dragging me all the way to the hotel entrance.
Chen Sui happened to be nearby, having dinner with his roommate.
I didn’t know if he had gone back yet; I wanted to call him but couldn’t free my hands.
I was almost in tears from panic when I spotted Chen Sui and his roommate not far away.
“Chen Sui!”
The moment he looked over at me, my anxious heart finally settled down.
Chen Sui had only just come out at this hour, so he must have had a bit to drink too.
When he saw what was happening, his face darkened immediately. He grabbed a nearby chair and walked over.
Without the slightest hesitation, he smashed it into the back of Mu Zejia.
The hand gripping my wrist finally let go.
