Chapter 12
“Really taken a liking to that little male host?”
In a two-seater sports car, there’s simply no option for a back seat.
Julian Montgomery sat beside me.
His slender fingers tapped lightly on the steering wheel.
He asked casually.
I watched the snowflakes swirling down outside the window.
Silently frowned, not responding.
Because I really didn’t think we were in a relationship where we could discuss this calmly.
Just then, the car’s screen popped up with an incoming call request.
The name “Ethan Hayes” flashing broke the silence of my non-response:
“Julian, where are you? Coming to the party?”
Julian Montgomery’s brow furrowed slightly, his voice cool:
“Busy, not going.”
“What are you busy with? You’ve been back for four days and haven’t come out once?”
The car was very quiet.
The phone’s volume was quite loud.
Julian Montgomery glanced at me.
His thin lips pressed slightly, then he said, “You guys have fun, I’m hanging up.”
The call was abruptly disconnected.
The car fell silent once more.
Julian Montgomery quietly started the engine.
I looked down at my phone, dead for three days.
Sighed inwardly.
I should have just asked someone for help earlier, rented a power bank before coming down.
“Thanks to you.”
The person beside me suddenly spoke again, his tone faint:
“I’ve been back for four days and haven’t returned to my old life.”
“But you’ve had quite the time.”
“Even the money for hiring a man was on me.”
I was taken aback, then chuckled softly.
“The compensation you gave me, wasn’t it for spending however I pleased?”
“There shouldn’t be any restrictions on its use, right?”
“If there were restrictions, then that would be a different price.”
Julian Montgomery also chuckled.
But there wasn’t much amusement in his eyes:
“What if I wanted to impose restrictions?”
“Would that require extra payment?”
