Chapter 17
Bo Anzhi’s disappearance didn’t just throw me and Bo Min into a panic; the entire Bo family was in chaos.
Rumors even started to spread to the outside world.
On the third day of his disappearance, Bo Min came to the villa with news.
Three days ago, Bo Anzhi had boarded a flight to Belgium.
Bo Min laid a recent photo of him on the table.
In the picture, an angelic, doll-like girl with delicate features was sitting beside him.
Sunlight streamed across the photo, making the scene look beautiful and romantic.
My fingers tightened on the corner of the picture, my hands trembling.
All my worrying suddenly seemed ridiculous.
I fought back the tears welling in my eyes and forced a smile as I saw Bo Min out.
Then I went upstairs and packed all my things.
After my tidying up, the villa looked much emptier.
I didn’t leave a single valuable behind.
After all, I would have plenty of expenses in the future.
A moving company took all my luggage to my old rental apartment.
The small loft was now crammed full.
This place was the first home that was truly mine.
As an orphan, I had always longed for a place of my own.
I quickly contacted the landlord and bought the apartment for twice the market price.
The cluttered luggage, the not-so-soft bed, the noisy city outside my window…
But smelling the fresh, soapy scent of the bedsheets, everything felt so real.
A fourteen-hour deep sleep washed away all the bad feelings.
I was still me. And in a world without Bo Anzhi, I was going to be even better.
