Chapter 8
Morning.
Jiang Mo insisted on driving me to work.
Despite my repeated refusals, he stubbornly held me close:
“Three years of marriage, and I’ve hardly been to your company. I can’t drive, so at least let me accompany you.”
I had no choice but to agree.
It’s not his safety I’m worried about.
It’s Ying Chen.
Childhood sweethearts, young first love, I know exactly how he operates; he won’t let me off easily anytime soon.
Moreover, yesterday, facing Jiang Mo, I chose to hide Ying Chen’s existence.
So, we arrived at the company entrance.
When I caught sight of that familiar figure from afar, I told Jiang Mo in advance, “I’ll go upstairs myself, the driver will take you back.”
“But yesterday, when I brought you lunch, I left the lunchbox behind. I want to take it back to wash.”
Jiang Mo smiled, his usual gentle demeanor.
His dark eyes fixed on me, both innocent and scrutinizing.
Especially, I felt his gaze seemed to shift.
From me, to outside the car window.
Ying Chen was leaning against his luxury car, holding a dazzling bouquet of roses.
People passing by, handsome guy with flowers, drawing the attention of onlookers.
Looking like he’s waiting for someone.
I instinctively leaned closer to the car window.
No, Jiang Mo can’t see.
Yet, I didn’t feel any sense of relief.
“Qi.”
Jiang Mo’s expression darkened.
He pursed his lips, lowered his eyes, and softly said, “Indeed, I’m blind. Going to your company requires you to be cautious for me all the time. I shouldn’t have come.”
My heart tightened, and I quickly countered, “No, how could that be? Your eyes are just an accident, you’re very capable.”
And just then.
“Knock, knock–”
Ying Chen tapped on the car window, squinting at me with a hostile look: “Qi, who is he?”
