Chapter 7
Night.
I turned over, only to be held tightly.
Startled, I turned my head. Jiang Mo had already locked me firmly in his arms, his large hand gripping my waist.
“What’s wrong? Can’t sleep?”
He buried his head, gently nibbling at my neck, giving a muffled “Mm” in response.
I tried to move, but he pressed me down even deeper.
“Don’t move.”
I sensed something at my lower back.
I froze, softly protesting, “It’s already happened so many times…”
Jiang Mo said nothing.
His hand simply slid downward, inch by inch.
“You’ve been… strange these past few days,” I said.
“What’s strange?” His voice was hoarse, “Am I not behaving myself?”
“Or is it that Qi only likes me when I’m obedient?”
“So, if one day I’m not obedient anymore, will you replace me?”
I didn’t answer.
But as his hands moved, I couldn’t help but let out a couple of whimpers.
Jiang Mo looked up at me, then suddenly reached out and slapped on the bedside lamp.
His sudden movement startled me. I called his name in protest, “Jiang Mo…”
He looked up.
I didn’t know if it was an illusion brought on by the lamp’s dim yellow light.
But I saw a faint spark in Jiang Mo’s eyes.
No longer blind, but more like a normal person, bright, reflecting emotions.
I was stunned for a moment.
But he didn’t care at all. He kept staring at me as he bit down again.
“Ah…”
A soft moan escaped me.
He didn’t stop, only raised his eyes to fix them on me.
Watching as I covered my flushed face with the back of my hand, my brows slightly furrowed.
Locked in his gaze, I suddenly felt ashamed, my whole body growing hot. I turned my head to escape his eyes.
But Jiang Mo caught my hand, pressing it down beside the pillow, forcing my face to be fully exposed.
Even as a blind man, his sensitivity to emotion was sharp.
So now, he was smiling at me, saying in a low voice:
“Even if I can’t see, will you still feel shy?”
“I’m not!”
My reflex denial only made me feel more guilty.
“Relax,” he seemed a bit helpless, but his tone hid a hint of mischief, “Qi, you forgot, I can’t see… no matter how tempting your expression is right now.”
Right.
It’s always been like this, these three years of marriage.
I enjoyed being myself in front of him.
But for some reason, these past few days, Jiang Mo felt more and more unfamiliar to me.
“Qi.”
Jiang Mo paused, licked his fingers clean, pinched my chin, and said, “If my eyes were good, I would never turn off the light.”
I bit my lip.
Spat out a word:
“Pervert.”
