Forbidden Age Gap: I Slept with the Boss's Son - Chapter 32
Two years later, my dad said he wanted to take me to a banquet, with the obvious purpose of introducing me to eligible young bachelors.
Over the past two years, my parents have been worried, thinking I might not like men at all since I haven’t found a boyfriend.
In reality, I’ve been so entangled with that little troublemaker on WeChat that I have no interest in chatting with anyone else.
Fortunately, although he’s clingy, he’s changed a lot.
He’s now getting straight A’s at school, has won a scholarship, and is working on projects with his mentor.
His dad is quite pleased with him, even involving him in some small projects for practice.
I agreed to attend the banquet this time because it was part of an arrangement with him.
Since we have so little time to meet, he often complains, so we seize every opportunity to see each other.
“I heard from my dad that you’re doing quite well at the company,” I raised my glass to clink with his.
He swirled the wine in his glass, leaned in close to my ear, and whispered, “That’s all thanks to your guidance.”
“Your dad is watching us,” I nervously reminded him.
He glanced over and smiled without saying a word.
When his father saw me, he offered a smile and walked over, making my scalp tingle with anxiety.
“Are you Ella Thompson?” His father was the typical successful businessman, exuding a strong sense of pressure even when being polite.
“Yes, hello, Uncle,” I forced a big smile.
“Not bad,” his father said, giving Liam Evans a significant look that made me instinctively distance myself from him, “Come over to our house for a meal sometime.”
“Ah?” I seemed to understand, yet not quite.
“Boss, Mr. Smith is looking for you over there,” my dad coincidentally came over, and upon seeing us, was puzzled about what the three of us were doing, hesitating to speak.
“I’ll go later,” his father said calmly, then reluctantly changed his expression to a smile upon seeing my dad, “Mr. Thompson, I was thinking of inviting you, your wife, and your daughter over for a meal sometime.”
My dad was visibly flattered.
“Boss?” He was bewildered.
“I’m usually busy, and may not have done enough, but I should have invited you over long ago. The two kids have been together for quite a while…”
“The two kids?” My dad looked at Liam Evans and then at me, clearly shocked.
“Mr. Thompson, don’t mind me. We’ll be family in the future, so don’t be so formal with me privately,” his father’s attitude was so good it made me question reality.
But at this moment, Liam Evans was still secretly laughing, as if he had planned it all along.
“When did this happen? This matter might need careful consideration…” My dad was so scared he couldn’t speak clearly.
“Look at how the two kids have kept it from us, Mr. Thompson. Let’s go to a private room to discuss.”
My dad followed his father inside, looking bewildered and didn’t come out for a long time.
“How did your dad find out?” I pinched Liam Evans.
He smiled, lowered his head, and told me, “He found the green apple scent you like in my room…”
My face flushed instantly.
How did that get discovered, “Why did you leave it around?”
“I was planning to return home, so I ordered some online. My housekeeper thought it was her package and opened it… then told my dad,” he shrugged.
Oh my, this was a major social embarrassment.
Later, on the way home, my dad was silent, scaring me into not daring to speak.
Finally, when we reached our garage, my dad suddenly said, “So satisfying, good job, daughter.”
Me: ?
My dad excitedly recounted his negotiation with Liam Evans’ father, “He’s always been so high and mighty, never as humble as today, begging me to agree to you two being together, saying his son has improved because of you, thanks to our family, and he even promised to give me a raise.”
I listened to my dad happily talk for quite a while.
“So did you agree?” I stood there, somewhat confused.
He glanced at me, “No, I said I’d consider it.”
“Ella Thompson, Dad doesn’t want you to be unequal in this relationship because of me, and you shouldn’t compromise because of Dad. Dad is just an employee, he can be humble, but my daughter absolutely cannot, understand? So you need to think carefully, don’t let that brat walk all over you.”
I remembered every time I left, Liam Evans would cry and beg me to video call him, and I broke into a cold sweat.
And every time he hugged me, saying he felt insecure, begging me to wait for him…
It seems… I bully him more often.
But I didn’t say that, I just replied to my dad with one word, “Okay.”
Back home, I proactively confessed to my mom.
My mom was speechless for a long time after hearing it, finally giving me a thumbs up,
“Impressive.”
“No, Mom, this isn’t appropriate…”
“This?” My mom seemed to like it more and more, eventually using the excuse of visiting Grandma, dragging my dad away.
As soon as they left, Liam Evans revealed his true self.
“Honey…” He hugged me from behind, resting his head on my shoulder, nuzzling back and forth.
“Pack your things, we’re flying tonight,” I pushed him away.
But he wouldn’t let go.
“There’s still three hours,” he whispered in my ear, acting spoiled.
“You need to be at the airport two hours early, stop messing around.”
“Then there’s still one hour,” he persisted, finally kissing me directly, sighing, “Time is so short, honey should make the most of it…”
“You’ll be too tired later.”
“Tired is perfect for sleeping on the plane.”
This little troublemaker!
