Forbidden Age Gap: I Slept with the Boss's Son - Chapter 31
Considering the age gap between Liam Evans and me, and the fact that he’s studying abroad, our relationship has turned into a clandestine affair.
He’s not happy about it.
I told him I’d visit him in the States during the National Day holiday, and he reluctantly agreed.
“Whatever, if you think it’s more exciting this way, I don’t mind.” On the day he left, he was lounging around my house without a care.
“Shut up!” I wished I could sew his mouth shut.
Even though we agreed on keeping it secret, he never missed a chance to tease me about it.
Just as I finished speaking, my dad looked at me with a troubled expression, “Ella Thompson, come here for a moment.”
Oh no! Did he hear us?
I put my things down and glared at Liam Evans, who still had that fearless look on his face.
My dad pulled me into a room, earnestly advising me, “Why are you always so harsh with Li? He’s your dad’s boss’s son, after all. Are you trying to make your dad’s life at the company difficult?”
“Dad, I wasn’t harsh with him. By the way, did your boss promote you last time?” I suddenly remembered.
My dad was silent for a moment, “Well… the boss is unpredictable. He appreciated that I took Li in, said I handle things steadily… and specifically assigned some projects to me… my workload has doubled.”
“That’s great, congratulations, your wishes are coming true.”
My dad rubbed his temples, “The salary hasn’t increased.”
Sorry, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Dad, your boss is definitely testing you.” I laughed and encouraged him, hoping he wouldn’t be too discouraged.
My dad looked dejected, muttering, “When will your dad finally rise up and put the capitalists in their place…”
“It will happen, it will happen.” I laughed it off and quickly retreated.
“What’s wrong?” I was driving Liam Evans to the airport, and he kept reaching over to hold my hand.
“Nothing, my dad… it’s about his work.” I pushed his hand away, “Let go, it’s not safe.”
He did let go, but at the traffic light, he grabbed my hand again, examining it back and forth, “Honey’s hand is so smooth, I really like it…”
“Liam Evans, be serious.” He’s been like this ever since I agreed to be his girlfriend.
“I want to.” He smiled at me, “But looking at honey, I can’t be a gentleman.”
I remained silent, not wanting to argue with him.
“You’re ignoring me again.” He started to complain, “You won’t text me after sending me off on the plane, will you?”
“I wouldn’t!”
I was on the verge of tears, what did he think of me?
“You haven’t, in half a year since we added each other on WeChat, you haven’t sent me a single message.” He started bringing up old grievances.
“Wasn’t it you who ignored me?” I felt he was being unreasonable.
“If I ignore you, you won’t reach out to me? You should coax me, once you do, I’m all yours.” He lifted my hand and gently kissed it.
“Alright, alright, stop messing around, hurry up and catch your flight.” He’s so clingy, I can’t shake him off.
He looked at the airport, unbuckled his seatbelt, but sat there for a while without moving.
“Get out.”
“I regret it.” He suddenly sighed.
“Regret what?”
He turned his face, looking deeply at me, “Why did I agree to study over there? Thinking about not seeing you for a week or two, it hurts here.”
He pointed to his heart.
I was taken aback, quickly comforting him, “It’ll be soon, I’ll visit you during the National Day holiday.”
“But… we’ve only been together for a few days…” He lamented for a while, then gritted his teeth and got out of the car, “Remember to answer my WeChat video calls.”
“Okay.”
He took a few steps, then came back, circled to the driver’s side, leaned down, and gave me a deep kiss before reluctantly leaving.
Watching his departing figure, a strong sense of longing surged in my heart.
But there’s no choice, I can’t disrupt his studies.
I steeled myself and drove away quickly.
