Doll Survival Game - Chapter 157
Everyone was surprised by the high score of parasite 370, so no one noticed the joy in He Xiaoye’s voice.
The leaderboard disappeared very quickly this time as well, vanishing almost in the blink of an eye.
Yuan Mo stared blankly at the holographic display. “It’s just gone like that?”
He had mentally prepared himself for it to be fast, but this was way too fast.
Li Qi Feng glanced at He Xiaoye. He Xiaoye was stunned for a moment, then tossed the key to Li Qi Feng. Li Qi Feng found the key to the handcuffs and unlocked them for the two of them. “I only saw three rankings, along with their scores.”
Yuan Mo felt like he forgot everything as soon as he saw it, because he tried to remember more, but in the end, he didn’t remember anything at all.
Li Qi Feng unlocked Yuan Mo’s handcuffs. He glanced sideways at Li Han. “The gap between first and second place isn’t big.”
Actually, he originally thought that the rankings at this point shouldn’t be much different from last time, since the interval was short and the Ghost Tag game was still interfering.
But the first place had already changed.
Li Han only looked at the scores for first place and his own ranking. “The difference is four points.”
Yuan Mo pulled a long face. “We’re only fifteenth, and our total points are just about fifty.”
“Right.” Li Qi Feng handed the key to Yuan Mo, and Yuan Mo unlocked Li Qi Feng’s handcuffs. “How many points does first place have?”
Li Qi Feng lowered his head. “376.”
Yuan Mo let out a surprised breath. “We’re more than three hundred points behind!”
Li Qi Feng flexed his wrists, not looking particularly worried. “It’ll be easier to score points later.”
He Xiaoye’s slightly upturned lips fell when he heard this. “Yeah, everyone will be carrying a lot of points later, so as long as you kill a player, your own ranking might change dramatically.”
Killing someone would get you their points, and by the later stages, anyone still alive would definitely have a lot of points on them.
Yuan Mo was dumbfounded.
Li Qi Feng clenched his hand, then looked up, not caring that He Xiaoye and Li Han were present, and spoke directly to Yuan Mo. “We need to allocate the points.”
Yuan Mo: “?”
Li Qi Feng’s expression was calm. “After this, the points for the two of us will be concentrated on you. If I can control a monster or a parasite, you’ll be the one to kill it.”
Yuan Mo didn’t react. “What do you mean?”
He Xiaoye responded quickly and explained for him, “Basically, if you run into a tough situation, he’ll step up to cover your escape. That way, if he dies, most of the points will still be on you-on your organization-so not too many will be lost.”
Yuan Mo’s eyes widened. “But you should be the one getting the points. It’s not right for me to take so many.”
Li Qi Feng took out his gun and opened the cage door. There was noise not far away-probably the City Defense Force had noticed something was wrong and were coming this way.
Li Han remembered that they couldn’t kill these people, so he extended the spider legs from his back and corroded the ceiling. “Let’s leave from here.”
Li Qi Feng nodded, then turned sideways to look at Yuan Mo. “You’re more suitable.”
Yuan Mo was stunned for a moment, then said, “You’re definitely not a parasite.”
Li Qi Feng paused and looked at him. “I hope you aren’t either.”
Yuan Mo’s expression was serious. “Of course.”
Li Han glanced at He Xiaoye as he listened. He Xiaoye was already nervous, so when Li Han looked over, he immediately noticed. “W-what is it?”
Li Han didn’t say anything. He just silently left through the corroded opening.
He Xiaoye felt his heart speed up-did he notice? Should he say something to prove his loyalty?
But the problem was, even if they were just from different organizations, they were already enemies by default. Whether he was a parasite or not didn’t matter-what was the point of proving loyalty?
Still, Li Han wouldn’t kill him right now, would he?
Players got different points for killing parasites, but the minimum was ten points, which was still very tempting…
-Forget it, anyway, he definitely wouldn’t survive to the end. Every extra minute alive counted!
He Xiaoye nervously wrapped himself up in his clothes, then crawled out last through the passage corroded open.
Shouts from the City Defense Force came from below. The four of them didn’t stop and quickly headed toward Changdu District.
Luo Yiran also saw the leaderboard update, and even Via saw it, because they hadn’t acted immediately after the Ghost Tag game ended.
Via’s mouth twitched when he saw the score for the One Two Three organization. “This score-don’t tell me it’s all from our side?”
The doll lowered its eyes. “Most likely. There are few monsters and parasites outside the high-risk zone, so they don’t have many ways to score points.”
He finished speaking and looked at the words “parasite.” “But the parasites are strange.”
Via was finally able to take out a gun from his items. He moved stiffly and tried aiming at the monsters. “What’s strange about them?”
Luo Yiran looked up. “When the leaderboard appeared last round, the parasites only had a little over a hundred points, but now it’s 376.”
Via was stunned. “Last time? When was that?”
The doll brushed away the gray hair blown onto itself by the night wind. “Before the Ghost Tag game.”
“And in just this one hour, the game eliminated nearly half the players.” Luo Yiran lowered his head. “With so many organizations gone, the parasites still managed to get a very high score.”
Via didn’t know as much. He watched as Luo Yiran easily manipulated the silver thread to weave a stronger, larger web in the air, realizing Luo Yiran intended for him to deal with the monsters in the air as much as possible.
He said, “If we kill all the monsters here, we can be first too.”
The doll’s body leaned slightly toward the magician’s neck, his tone very light: “Not necessarily.”
Via looked up: “?”
The doll flipped through the rules again: “The scoring part in the rules is written very clearly.”
Via paused, then quickly reacted: “The rules only state the minimum score, but there’s no upper limit!”
“Right.” The doll’s red eyes narrowed: “So the parasites most likely killed a high-scoring existence.”
And it was an existence with a very high score.
Luo Yiran set up the net, then released the net that had wrapped around Via, letting it fall onto the silver thread. While keeping an eye on Via, he pondered-
But where did the owner of such a valuable score come from?
Parasites get their points from players and NPCs.
Among the players, the highest possible score would be that organization that wiped out a high-risk zone, and among the NPCs, the highest-scoring ones…
Luo Yiran raised his eyebrows slightly, thinking of something-those city lords who manage Sky City, their scores should be extremely high, right?
From this short period of time, it seems more likely that the parasite killed an NPC.
But which NPC died, was it someone from the management?
…
About an hour later.
The magician holding the silver thread was the first to look up, followed by Via and Luo Yiran.
Via easily jumped onto the silver thread, looking up at the electric net as an opening appeared: “It’s not our teammates, right?”
Their teammates should have come in through the loophole Luo Yiran mentioned.
The magician cupped his hand around his mouth like a megaphone: “Young master, come over here a bit.”
He didn’t need to say it; after all, they were right under the broken part of the electric net.
Luo Yiran used the silver thread to get closer to the magician, and then saw several human-sized oval white-and-blue shells crash down from the crack, heading straight toward them.
Via shrugged his shoulders, cursed twice, and ran along the silver thread: “What the hell! What is this? Bombs?”
“Hey, doll, can your silver thread hold up?”
They’re about to hit the silver thread!
“…” Luo Yiran wasn’t sure, but if it broke, it broke, so he didn’t retract the silver thread.
The magician led him to dodge, and then Luo Yiran saw the electric net above quickly close up. The white-and-blue shells crashed onto the silver thread he had just set up, and the thread sagged under the force-
Via stopped and looked over curiously.
Then a dramatic scene unfolded.
The shells couldn’t get through the silver thread, so they bounced off it like a trampoline.
Luo Yiran: “…”
He didn’t know what those things were, but he was sorry.
Via grabbed the other end of Luo Yiran’s silver thread and burst out laughing: “What the hell is this, hahaha! Amazing!”
-First, rule out bombs, because if they were bombs, they would have exploded when they hit the silver thread.
The magician watched as the shells crashed into a building and fell down, then leaned close to the doll and whispered, “There are living people inside.”
Luo Yiran was stunned: “People?”
He quickly looked down at the holographic display-he hadn’t checked the group messages earlier because he was fighting monsters.
Over there, Via also noticed: “Damn, Lin Ye said in the group they’re coming soon, could those things be them?!”
Luo Yiran’s mouth twitched. He scrolled up and saw Zhang Mimi had informed them in the group that the loophole in the pink building had been blocked by the city lord’s son because she let it slip.
So they had to come in through official channels with the city lord’s son.
“It should be them.” Luo Yiran said expressionlessly.
The last bit of a smile on Via’s lips instantly disappeared.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, Zhang Mimi, Lin Ye, and some people in black clothes came over.
Zhang Mimi was hacking at the monsters trapped by the silver thread as she shouted loudly without a care: “Ranran! You heartless thing-”
Luo Yiran: “…”
Was it his fault?!
The magician nodded in inexplicable agreement: “Truly heartless.”
Luo Yiran glared at him very obviously: “Shut up.”
The magician lazily made a zipping motion over his mouth.
Via’s gaze swept over the man with the center-parted hair beside Lin Ye, then he frowned at the group chat-logically, shouldn’t the uncle and the others have arrived first?
Did something happen on the way?
Luo Yiran manipulated the silver thread to cover everyone, and as soon as the group reached them, he immediately asked, “Where’s Duan Miaomiao?”
“In treatment.” Lin Ye glanced at the center-parted man beside him.
The doll understood-this was the city lord’s son Zhang Mimi had mentioned in the group.
And. Luo Yiran looked at Lin Ye’s expression-he’d been threatened or made a deal.
The condition should be treating Duan Miaomiao… but what was the other party’s goal?
Luo Yiran turned his gaze to the center-parted man, and suddenly met the man’s burning eyes.
“?”
Lin Ye coughed twice and looked away.
Zhang Mimi didn’t even pause by the doll’s side, heading straight for Via.
Via, meanwhile, was recalling what happened before Yi Yuefeng reacted-
Yi Yuefeng happily opened his arms to Luo Yiran: “It can really talk and move! My dear little doll, from now on, you’re mine.”
“……”
Luo Yiran’s expression cracked.
The magician beside him also froze, his long gray hair rising without wind, and a dangerous aura erupted instantly.
“What did you say?”
“Say it again.”
