Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 33 - Shake Him Off!
Upon hearing this, Tang Jie remained silent, opened the car door to make room for Chen Shuran, and then swiftly leapt over the roof of the Maserati to agilely settle into the driver’s seat.
“Hold on tight!” he said with a slight smile after switching seats, and as soon as he gripped the steering wheel, the car shot forward like an arrow.
In the blink of an eye, Tang Jie had accelerated past a hundred miles per hour. Chen Shuran, sitting in the passenger seat, wasn’t prepared; the rapidly changing scenery made her lean heavily against the seat, startling her with the sudden shift.
“Tang Jie, can’t you warn me before speeding up like that? You scared me to death!” Previously, Chen Shuran had been the one speeding, and even at a hundred miles per hour, she felt fine.
But with Tang Jie at the wheel, the abrupt acceleration felt like a cheetah sprinting forward, leaving her disoriented and surprised.
Tang Jie simply gave a calm smile, his eyes focused intently on the road ahead.
On the highway, tall lampposts stood at intervals, casting a dim yellow glow. The occasional chirp of insects was the only distraction in the serene environment.
The howling wind rushed past, swaying the trees lining the roadside, occasionally tearing off a few leaves.
In a moment of distraction, Chen Shuran noticed that the two sports cars that had overtaken them earlier were now far behind, in just a matter of seconds. In a few breaths, they had created a significant distance between them.
It was not until then that Chen Shuran realized that Tang Jie’s promise of disappearing from their view was not spoken lightly.
Watching Tang Jie masterfully maneuver the car through the highway, he seemed to navigate as swiftly as a fish swimming in water. At this moment, Tang Jie appeared to be shrouded in mystery in Chen Shuran’s eyes, making him an enigma she could not fathom.
“Almost caught up!” After a few minutes, Tang Jie and Chen Shuran, who had been left far behind by Wei Dong’s silver Porsche, finally caught sight of a silver Porsche driving against traffic on the highway, which was indeed Wei Dong’s car.
“Quick, catch up to him, Tang Jie, overtake him fiercely!” Seeing Wei Dong’s silver Porsche appear in front of them and the distance between the two cars rapidly decreasing, Chen Shuran snapped out of her daze and shouted excitedly.
“Alright!” Tang Jie grinned, stepped on the gas, and the red Maserati surged towards the silver Porsche like a flame in the night.
“Huh?” Inside the Porsche, Wei Dong noticed through the rear-view mirror that Shuran’s car was gaining on him, except it wasn’t Shuran driving but her companion, Tang Jie, prompting a surprised exclamation from him.
“That poor kid actually knows how to race?” Wei Dong muttered. “But so what, thinking you can overtake me? You’re still a bit too green!”
“Wei-Ge, look, they’re catching up! Hurry, speed up and leave them behind!” The alluring woman in the passenger seat pointed at the reflection of the Maserati in the car’s mirror and urged coquettishly.
“Heh, why so anxious? Leaving them behind is a piece of cake!” Wei Dong cast a sidelong glance at the woman’s chest with a wicked grin, unzipped his jeans, grabbed the woman’s head, and said slowly, “Serve Wei-Ge well, and the hundred thousand we’ll win will be yours.”
“Okay!” The alluring woman initially resisted slightly, but upon hearing Wei Dong’s promise to give her the entire prize, she immediately became compliant.
Without Wei Dong having to make a move, she parted her lips slightly and bent forward.
“Mm…” As a wave of pleasurable comfort surged from below, Wei Dong couldn’t help but hum with satisfaction.
Unaware of what was happening inside Wei Dong’s silver Porsche, Chen Shuran excitedly urged Tang Jie to increase his speed and overtake Wei Dong.
“Whoosh…”
Tang Jie and Chen Shuran had no idea what was transpiring in the car ahead. They saw the Porsche hesitate slightly, and Tang Jie seized the opportunity, stepping on the gas and closing the gap even more.
“Miss Chen, hold on tight!” Tang Jie warned with a hint of amusement in his eyes, then swiftly turned the steering wheel.
Driving the wrong way on the highway, the narrow road barely had enough space for two cars side by side. At such high speeds, any small misstep could make the cars graze each other, causing them to lose balance.
At this moment, a crazy idea formed in Tang Jie’s mind. He pushed the speed even further, and in an instant, he was side by side with the silver Porsche.
Then, a bizarre scene unfolded as he twisted the steering wheel. The red Maserati’s body suddenly reared up.
“Ah…”
Sensing the sudden change, Chen Shuran couldn’t help but cry out, though her scream was quickly swallowed by the howling wind.
The car soon began to overtake the silver Porsche, moving in this strange manner.
“This… how is this possible?”
Inside his car, Wei Dong watched in astonishment as the red Maserati slowly overtook him-its left side raised, running only on the right tires.
“No, impossible!” Wei Dong shook his head, unwilling to believe his eyes.
Yet, what he deemed impossible was happening right before him.
“Even top international racers can’t do this!” Wei Dong muttered to himself, failing to notice that he was falling further behind the red Maserati.
“The show is just getting started!” Tang Jie said with a wicked grin inside the red Maserati.
After overtaking Wei Dong, the red Maserati returned to a normal driving state, smoothly running on all four wheels.
Now far ahead, the Maserati swayed its body from side to side, as if a child was mocking his opponent after a victory.
Wei Dong saw it all, gritted his teeth, and slammed the steering wheel, filled with frustration as he tried to catch up.
However, already in the lead, Tang Jie was not about to let Wei Dong close the gap. Every time Wei Dong attempted to pass from the side, Tang Jie skillfully blocked him, leaving Wei Dong seething with anger but utterly helpless.
Within moments, Tang Jie had widened the gap to more than ten meters. No matter how hard Wei Dong tried to catch up, it was in vain; he could only watch as Tang Jie grew more distant by the second.
