Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 13 - She's an Ice Princess
“Ow…”
“Thud…”
This time, Tang Jie showed no courtesy to fat Zhou. As he avoided fat Zhou, his fingers swiftly tapped several acupoints on Zhou’s body. Instantly, Zhou, who had fallen to the ground, felt a sharp pain coursing through his body.
It was as if thousands of ants were crawling over him, biting his skin. The terrible itch was accompanied by intense pain.
“How boring.” Tang Jie didn’t go all out. If he really wanted to finish off fat Zhou, he had a hundred ways to do it. This time, it was just a small lesson for Zhou.
The pain throughout Zhou’s body would dissipate in less than half an hour.
Tang Jie left, leaving behind fat Zhou still writhing on the ground with unbearable itchiness.
As Tang Jie departed, the furious glare in fat Zhou’s eyes did not escape his notice, but Tang Jie didn’t care. Or rather, he wasn’t afraid of fat Zhou.
“Shuran-Jie, who is he exactly? From the way he moves, it seems like he knows martial arts!” Hidden in the woods were Chen Shuran and Xiao Ran.
“Never mind about him; it’s better to stay out of other people’s business,” Chen Shuran thought for a moment before saying these ambiguous words. However, she felt a slight sense of satisfaction. It seemed that the bodyguard her father found for her was indeed skilled, or at least very interesting.
“I thought he would be bullied by fat Zhou, but it turned out that Zhou got bullied by him,” Xiao Ran pouted as if disappointed that she didn’t get to see Tang Jie being bullied. “But seeing fat Zhou in such a miserable state, it was worth hiding here for so long!”
“You little girl, what on earth are you thinking all day? Alright, let’s hurry back to the classroom for our lessons,” Chen Shuran playfully scolded Xiao Ran before turning to leave.
……
“Hi, Security Uncle!” Tang Jie strolled up to the school gate with his hands in his pockets, a piece of foxtail grass dangling from his mouth, giving off a carefree vibe. As he was about to leave, he still made it a point to greet the old man in the guardroom.
“It’s you, kid!” The old security guard spotted Tang Jie emerging in a white outfit and was about to stop him from leaving the school premises. However, remembering Tang Jie’s piercing cold gaze, he swallowed his words.
“Yeah, it’s me, Security Uncle. I’m heading off now, but I’ll be back.” With that, Tang Jie hurried his pace and swiftly exited the school gate.
Left in astonishment, the old security guard muttered, “This rascal, could it be he’s not a student here? No, I need to check this!” He said, picking up the phone in the guardroom and quickly dialing a number.
After leaving No. 2 High School, Tang Jie vanished from the old security guard’s sight and turned down a street. Stopping in his tracks, he glanced to the side to see a stretch Lincoln parked nearby.
“Uncle Zhao, is that you?” Tang Jie approached and saw Uncle Zhao sitting inside the Lincoln.
“Heh, Tang, get in! Mr. Chen wants to see you,” Uncle Zhao called out, opening the car door for him.
Without any fuss, Tang Jie got into the car, and they slowly drove toward the Chen Group.
“Uncle Zhao, what does Mr. Chen want with me?” Tang Jie asked, puzzled. He didn’t understand why Chen Jiankai, whom he had just met yesterday, needed him again today.
Could it be because he had just visited Miss Chen at school? Thinking it might be inappropriate, he cautiously asked, “Is it because I just went to see Miss Chen?”
“Don’t overthink it, Tang!” Uncle Zhao replied with a gentle smile. “Mr. Chen called you in indeed because of the young miss, but not for the reasons you think. It’s something else entirely.”
After acknowledging this, Tang Jie fell silent, thinking to himself, “Could it be because of the flirty comments I made last night that Miss Chen reported me?” If that were the case, the old man was sure to find another reason to coerce me after this mission ended.
Realizing this after Uncle Zhao’s arrival, Tang Jie knew he might have spoken too much to Chen Shuran yesterday. Resolved, he decided he must avoid speaking too much with her in the future, especially not making flirtatious comments. After all, she was an ice princess and a young miss, and he was just a bodyguard. The last thing he needed was to upset her and give the old man a reason to hold something over him.
Tang Jie shuddered as he remembered the old man’s wrinkled face, marked by a slightly sinister and flirtatious smile.
“Tang, what’s the matter with you, are you ill?” Uncle Zhao said, then suddenly felt that his question was superfluous. Although he didn’t know the specifics about Tang Jie, he figured that the senior backing him wouldn’t send someone useless.
“No, not at all!” Tang Jie awkwardly smiled, then shifted slightly closer to Uncle Zhao, seemingly seeking some warmth.
Uncle Zhao was taken aback by his response and continued to look puzzled.
Tang Jie coughed twice and said to Uncle Zhao, “If the young miss complains, you must help me explain. I absolutely can’t let my master find out.”
Huh? Uncle Zhao was even more bewildered, then heard Tang Jie add, “Because the old man is jealous that I am younger and more handsome than him, he has ordered me to behave at work and not to chat with… beauties. If he finds out, he would definitely come over and beat me to death.”
“Pfft!”
Uncle Zhao almost fell out of the car laughing and took a while to compose himself, his face bearing a resigned smile as he looked at Tang Jie, “Alright, I got it.”
Yet, he thought to himself, it’s unexpected that this master and disciple are so amusing. It seems his master must be a remarkable figure; I must meet him sometime.
After Uncle Zhao agreed to his request, Tang Jie moved back to his own seat, looking guiltily like a thief.
The stretch Lincoln turned a corner and stopped because of a red light.
Neither Uncle Zhao nor Tang Jie in the car noticed that a black Cayenne was quietly tailing them.
Inside, a slim man dressed in a black suit fixated on the stretch Lincoln ahead, his eyes gleaming, slowly said, “Brother, they’ve stopped. Shall we make our move now?”
The man in the passenger seat, his face marked by a twenty-centimeter-long scar, pondered for a moment, then nodded and said, “This Lincoln is the boss of the Chen Group’s dedicated car. Since he’s here, it must mean that old man Zhao and Chen Jiankai are inside. Take advantage of the red light and smash their fuel tank, ignite the leaking fuel, and kill them both so we can claim the bounty.”
