Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 12 - Don't Talk to Beauties
“Why are you blocking my way?” Tang Jie frowned slightly, looking at the person in front of him with confusion.
“Kid, if you’ve got guts, come with me!” Fat Zhou glanced at Chen Shuran behind Tang Jie and pointed at Tang Jie.
“Why should I go with you?” Tang Jie was puzzled. What was up with this guy, asking if I have guts to follow him around? Does he think he gets to decide that for me?
“Don’t talk so much crap. If you’re a man, come with me.” With that, Fat Zhou gave Tang Jie a disdainful look, turned around, and strode away.
Tang Jie shrugged helplessly and followed him. He wasn’t worried that this fat guy would pull any tricks; he was just curious about when he had offended someone in this school.
“Shuran-Jie, look, your lover is being called over by Wang Shiwen’s lackey. Aren’t you worried he’ll get beaten up?” Xiao Ran said anxiously as she watched Tang Jie walk away.
“Hmph, didn’t you just say there was something between us? Why are you worried now? Oh, I see, do you like him?” Chen Shuran had heard Fat Zhou’s words to Tang Jie but didn’t intervene. Now she wouldn’t miss the chance to tease this little girl, Xiao Ran.
“Oh, come on! I’m just worried for you, okay? What if he comes back with a swollen face? You wouldn’t be able to sleep then, would you?” Xiao Ran giggled, retorting.
“You cheeky girl, what nonsense are you spouting? See if I don’t teach you a lesson!” With that, Chen Shuran rolled up her sleeves, looking like she was about to chase Xiao Ran.
“Ah… Shuran-Jie is going to hit me!”
Xiao Ran shrieked and let go of Chen Shuran’s arm, running away.
In a secluded green pathway on the campus, a fat and a lean figure stood facing each other.
“Kid, what’s your name?” Fat Zhou leaned against a tree, took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, lit one up, and exhaled a puff of smoke before speaking.
“What does that have to do with why you called me here?” Tang Jie stood in place, looking with mild interest at the sturdy and fleshy fat guy in front of him.
“What, are you afraid to tell me your name?” Fat Zhou took another drag of his cigarette, his eyes scanning Tang Jie up and down before he continued, “Kid, do you know you’ve messed with someone you shouldn’t have?”
“Me?” Tang Jie was taken aback, then calmly said, “Why don’t you go ahead and tell me who it is I’ve supposedly messed with.”
Perhaps Tang Jie’s calm demeanor irritated Fat Zhou, who threw down his cigarette butt, his face contorting into a snarl as he sneered at Tang Jie, “Kid, you’re pretty arrogant. Since you want to know, I’ll tell you. You’ve offended Young Master Wang. I’m here to warn you not to get close to Chen Shuran, or you’ll pay for it.”
Hearing this, Tang Jie had a rough idea of the situation. With Chen Shuran’s looks, she likely had many admirers both at school and outside, yet there were often those young masters with family backgrounds who couldn’t stand others getting near their chosen targets.
It seemed his interactions with Chen Shuran had caught the attention of one such young master, prompting him to send an underling to warn him.
Thinking of this, Tang Jie smiled slightly and said, “Who I interact with is none of your so-called Young Master Wang’s business. If he’s got something to say, let him tell me himself. Sending a lackey doesn’t count for much, does it?”
“What did you say?” Fat Zhou became furious upon hearing this, “Say that again if you’ve got the guts.”
“I don’t repeat myself. Got anything else? If not, I’ll be on my way.” Having figured out the situation, Tang Jie didn’t want to waste any more time with Fat Zhou and turned to leave.
“Did I say you could leave?” Ever since following Wang Shiwen, everyone at school treated Fat Zhou with respect and dared not speak against him. Being blatantly disrespected was unbearable for him.
Fat Zhou stepped forward and reached out to grab Tang Jie, but Tang Jie skillfully dodged, leaving him grasping at air.
“Well, look at that, the kid’s got some moves. No wonder he’s so cocky!” Stabilizing himself, Fat Zhou let out a shout, accelerating his pace as he lunged towards Tang Jie.
“Sigh, there sure are a lot of ignorant people, especially the fat ones!” Whether intentional or not, Tang Jie sighed, his words reaching Fat Zhou’s ears and intensifying his anger.
Tang Jie quickly sidestepped, dodging Fat Zhou’s charge. He then extended his right leg, tripping Fat Zhou, who couldn’t react in time and fell flat on his back.
“Hahaha…” Seeing Fat Zhou sprawled on the ground like a turtle, flailing, Tang Jie clutched his stomach, laughing heartily.
“Damn it!” Fat Zhou, with his thick skin, wasn’t hurt much by the fall, but he was certainly annoyed. Getting up with a scowl, he growled, “Damn, you dare to resist? Just wait till I catch you and beat the crap out of you!”
With that, Fat Zhou lunged at Tang Jie again, only to end up on the ground once more.
An ordinary person like Fat Zhou had no chance against Tang Jie’s skills. Even if another ten like him showed up, they wouldn’t be a match for Tang Jie.
“What the heck is going on!” Fat Zhou cursed as he quickly got back on his feet, brushing the dust off his clothes.
“Are you done with your performance? If so, I’ve got to get going,” Tang Jie sneered, standing behind Fat Zhou.
“Screw you! I refuse to believe it. No way I can’t handle a little guy like you,” Fat Zhou remained stubborn. He chalked up the first two failures to his own mistakes. Steadying himself, he charged at Tang Jie once more.
He vowed that once he caught Tang Jie, he’d give him a beating he’d never forget. Otherwise, he’d lose face big time. Although no one was around to witness the scene, having been by Wang Shiwen’s side for so long gave him a certain pride. He couldn’t allow someone inferior to disrespect his authority.
Anyone with a shred of sense could see that Fat Zhou and Tang Jie weren’t in the same league. All along, it was Fat Zhou making the first move, while Tang Jie hadn’t even retaliated.
From how effortlessly Tang Jie dodged Fat Zhou’s attacks and tripped him, it was clear that if Tang Jie really wanted to do something to Fat Zhou, Fat Zhou wouldn’t have been able to keep getting up over and over.
