Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 11 - How About We Go Together?
“Shuran-Jie, look!” Chen Shuran and Xiao Ran walked out of the convenience store within the school. With her keen eyes, Xiao Ran spotted a figure slowly approaching them and pointed in that direction.
“Hmm?” Chen Shuran responded and looked towards where Xiao Ran was pointing. She immediately saw Tang Jie, and her heart skipped a beat. She hadn’t called him, yet he came on his own. Thinking of last night, she felt an inexplicable joy, though her face remained expressionless.
On the campus of No. 2 High School, all students were dressed in sky-blue school uniforms, except for one distinct figure who wasn’t wearing a uniform, making him stand out and quickly attracting many people’s attention.
Some speculated about who this boy in white might be, but Tang Jie ignored their murmurs.
“Hi!” As he approached the two girls, Tang Jie greeted them politely.
“Who are you?” Xiao Ran looked at Tang Jie with wide eyes, puzzled.
“I am…” Tang Jie paused, adopting an enigmatic demeanor, and said, “I’m just passing by.”
Thud…
Hearing Tang Jie’s words, some surrounding students with a weaker disposition nearly fell to the ground. A moment ago, he seemed like a gentleman, and in the next moment, he turned into a rogue.
“Just passing by?” Xiao Ran looked at Tang Jie, utterly surprised.
“Xiao Ran…” Chen Shuran stopped Xiao Ran from speaking further and then calmly said to Tang Jie, “How did you get in?”
“Ahem…” Tang Jie cleared his throat after hearing this, then said, “Have you forgotten that you owe me something?”
“Owe you what?” Chen Shuran wondered in confusion. When did she owe this rogue anything?
“You… you… you.” Tang Jie repeated the word “you” three times, then said complainingly, “I left in a hurry last night and left my shirt at your place. Did you forget? I was laughed at on my way home for being shirtless.”
“Ah…”
Before Chen Shuran could speak, Xiao Ran, standing beside her, let out a startled cry.
“Shuran-Jie, you… you… you…”
This time, it was Xiao Ran’s turn to repeat “you” three times, her face full of disbelief. “Shuran-Jie, I can’t believe you would do something like this…”
“What are you talking about?” Chen Shuran was baffled, not understanding what Xiao Ran meant.
“You actually got involved with this guy and even took him home. He was shirtless! You two… you two… Oh, it’s so embarrassing.” Xiao Ran stomped her foot and turned away, refusing to look at Chen Shuran.
“Xiao Ran, what are you saying!” Chen Shuran felt a surge of anger. When did she get involved with this guy in front of her? Although she had a slight affection for him, they were definitely not in that kind of relationship. Seeing herself misunderstood, Chen Shuran’s face flushed with anger.
“You jerk, you better explain this clearly, or I won’t let it go.” Unable to clarify herself, Chen Shuran turned to Tang Jie, glaring at him. Even if he was someone who protected her, he couldn’t just speak carelessly.
“What do I need to explain? I didn’t say anything wrong!” Tang Jie was confused, having no idea what he said that was wrong. “Last night, I lent you my shirt. When I left, I forgot to take it back, that’s all!”
“You hear that, Xiao Ran? It’s not what you think.” Chen Shuran, hearing Tang Jie’s explanation, slowly said to Xiao Ran.
“Shuran-Jie,” Xiao Ran turned back, looking at Chen Shuran with a pouty face, “Don’t you have your own clothes? Why did you need to wear someone else’s? Hmph, it must be something like that. Usually, you can’t even stand it if a guy touches you at all!”
“I…” Chen Shuran found her friend’s imagination incredibly vivid, leaving her speechless.
“I’ll give you your shirt back tonight!” Having no retort, Chen Shuran gritted her teeth and said to Tang Jie in exasperation.
It was all this guy’s fault for making her so embarrassed in front of her friend. Hmph, she’ll definitely make him regret it tonight.
However, seeing Chen Shuran, who was usually proud and cold, show such an angry expression, the students around from No. 2 High School immediately saw it as her being shy in love.
“Wow, did you see that? The ice princess Chen Shuran is actually flirting with someone so plain-looking.”
“Yeah, did I see it right? Is that really our school beauty, Chen Shuran?”
“The usually cold and aloof beauty is human after all. What’s wrong with flirting a little?”
“Alright, then I’ll wait for you at the school gate after class this afternoon?” Tang Jie, noticing Chen Shuran’s agreement, calmly responded.
“Get lost!” Chen Shuran shouted angrily, feeling her face burn as she heard the surrounding students’ comments.
On the second floor of a teaching building not far away, a few senior year students were watching Tang Jie and Chen Shuran intently. Among them was a handsome boy whose eyes were locked on the pair.
The boy had striking features, with a face as if chiseled by a sculptor, smooth and fair, and a pair of slender eyes that sparkled with intensity.
“Young Master Wang, Chen Shuran is actually hanging out with another guy. Doesn’t that clearly show she’s disregarding you? Want me to call some guys to teach him a lesson?” said a sturdy young man standing next to the handsome boy, as he looked at the people downstairs.
This boy called Young Master Wang was Wang Shiwen, the young master of the Wang Group and its designated heir.
From a young age, Wang Shiwen lived a life blessed with every privilege, getting everything he wanted, and life was very comfortable.
In Wang Shiwen’s mind, there was nothing in this world that money couldn’t buy. When he entered high school, he immediately took a liking to the ice princess, Chen Shuran.
However, Chen Shuran had little interest in Wang Shiwen. Faced with his pursuit, she chose to ignore him.
Considering Chen Shuran’s family background, which was quite comparable to his own, Wang Shiwen didn’t choose to forcefully claim her.
Instead, the more unattainable Chen Shuran was, the stronger Wang Shiwen’s desire to possess her grew. He developed a keen interest in her.
At No. 2 High School, everyone knew that Wang Shiwen was pursuing Chen Shuran, and no one dared to compete with him for her attention.
Because their family backgrounds were comparable, Chen Shuran had only Wang Shiwen as a suitor so far.
“Hmph, how dare someone get close to my woman. This kid must have a death wish. Fat Zhou, go warn him that if he dares to bother my woman again, I’ll break his leg,” Wang Shiwen said, eyes narrowing, his tone icy.
The student called Fat Zhou, hearing Wang Shiwen’s cold command, nodded and headed downstairs towards Tang Jie.
“Uh… if there’s nothing else, I’ll head out now.” Tang Jie, feeling awkward after being shouted at by Chen Shuran, noticed the suggestive glances from those around him. Even with his thick skin, he couldn’t handle being observed like that.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, a sturdy figure blocked his way.
