Chapter 14
After saying this, I turned and walked away.
Leo Archer followed closely behind.
I tilted my head slightly and asked him, “Shouldn’t you be in training? Why are you here?”
“I received an invitation too.”
He lowered his gaze slightly, staring into my eyes,
“And you haven’t contacted me these past few days. I… missed you, Victoria.”
Indeed, I’ve been quite busy these days.
Busy snatching food from the tiger’s mouth.
Originally, I came here tonight just to confirm whether Julian Thorne was really present.
To prevent him from stirring up any new developments just before the contract is signed.
Fortunately, I overestimated Julian Thorne.
He has always looked down on me.
So, in these years since our marriage, I’ve managed to secretly start a company right under his nose, acquire an esports team, and then revive it.
Navigating between the Thorne Group and the Sterling Group, I’ve expanded my company step by step using the intelligence I’ve gathered, finally reaching this point.
Coming back to my senses, we had already reached the door.
Before I could think of how to respond to Leo Archer’s straightforward words, a group of reporters surrounded us.
“Ms. Sterling, are you the other person in the car photos from that day?”
“Is your marriage with Mr. Thorne over?”
“During the marriage, you openly cheated. Ms. Sterling, what do you think about this? Appearing at such an event with your affair partner–do you feel no shame, but rather pride?”
The last reporter’s question was blatantly malicious.
I stared into the eyes of the male reporter, which were filled with excitement and disdain, and suddenly laughed:
“Shouldn’t you be asking Julian Thorne, who’s sitting inside, this question?”
“Since the day after we got married four years ago, he has been photographed every two months with different new girlfriends at various events. What did you say back then?”
I tapped my chin with my fingertips, feigning a sudden realization,
“Oh, you said that in wealthy marriages, it’s driven by interests, and it’s normal for both parties to get what they need. Keeping a young and agreeable companion is also normal.”
“If I really did cheat, it would be Julian Thorne who violated the marriage contract first. He is at fault, and I am merely retaliating.”
“Moreover, my relationship with Leo Archer is not what you all imagine.”
As I spoke, I stepped aside slightly.
Subtly avoiding his attempt to hold my hand,
“Haven’t you always been curious about who the largest shareholder is after the Mountain Moon Esports Team was acquired by a mysterious investor?”
The young man suddenly turned his head.
In the sudden gust of chilly night wind, I spoke calmly and indifferently,
“I am his boss.”
