Chapter 13
I suddenly turned my head.
I saw the young man push aside a cluster of cameras, his expression indifferent as he moved through the crowd.
He had an exceptionally striking face, with sharp eyebrows and eyes, and when his brows slightly furrowed, his aura became even more intense.
But when he focused on me with a smile, it was as if stars suddenly lit up in his eyes.
He walked straight up to me, slightly lowered his head, and patiently smoothed the messy strands of hair by my ear.
Then he affectionately called out, “My dear.”
Julian abruptly stood up, his eyes gradually revealing a look of disbelief.
He exclaimed in a mix of shock and anger:
“The person in the car that night, was you?!”
Chloe, who was held in the crook of his arm, seemed to have realized something, and her smile became somewhat strained.
She accused me:
“Victoria Sterling, how could you engage in an affair while married? Don’t you think that’s too much?”
Leo Archer stood beside me, he raised his hand to hold my shoulder, his whole body almost pressed against mine.
The phone vibrated lightly twice in my handbag.
I took it out and saw the message from Grace:
“Ms. Sterling, everything went smoothly, the contract has just been signed.”
The unease that had been hanging over my heart suddenly settled, dissolving silently like spring snow.
I slowly exhaled, straightened my body, and looked at Chloe Parker in front of me.
“You know, you’re the least qualified to say such things.”
I curved my eyes, my gaze shifting to Julian Thorne beside her,
“You like young, pretty, and obedient ones, I do too, what’s so strange about that?”
Leo Archer’s hand on my shoulder tightened slightly.
Looking at Julian Thorne, he let out a cold laugh:
“If you were attractive enough to her, would I have had the chance to step in?”
Julian Thorne shouted coldly, “Victoria!”
“Shout, shout, that’s all you know.”
Leo Archer, tall and straight, stood half a head taller than Julian Thorne.
He looked down at Julian with obvious disdain in his eyes,
“When something happens, you only know to question Victoria, why don’t you reflect on yourself? Look at the wrinkles on your face, your eyes are drooping, an old man who can’t even speak properly, what do you have to compare with me?”
Being publicly humiliated by a young man ten years his junior, Julian Thorne’s face turned extremely unpleasant.
His emotions surged in his eyes, but in the end, he looked at me.
Using the same threat he had used countless times before:
“From now on, Thorne Group will no longer cooperate with the Sterling Family…”
“Who cares?”
I abruptly interrupted him, a mocking smile slowly spreading across my lips,
“Rather than that, you should quickly ask your subordinates why this term’s five-nation trade cooperation contract wasn’t signed, but instead went to someone else.”
