To Forgive or Not to Forgive - Chapter 4
This time, after failing the assessment, I didn’t shed any tears.
Afterwards, Assistant Li still wore her businesslike smile as she introduced us:
“This is Zhou Sining.
“This is Wen Shuyi.
“Shuyi, the competition is fierce this time.
“Sining just came back from New York-her abilities are not to be underestimated.”
Zhou Sining reached out her hand, looking at me with determination:
“I’m glad to be your competitor.
“Do your best.”
Since Zhou Sining was new, everyone organized a gathering in private to liven things up.
Everyone was a little tipsy. When I went to the restroom, I called Chen Jianjin.
But the call showed he was on another line.
I couldn’t get through, so I gave up.
Zhou Sining, her cheeks flushed from drinking, was quietly crying and complaining into her phone:
“Why aren’t you here to pick me up yet?
“Don’t you want me anymore?”
Soon, a black G-Class was hidden in the shadows of the night.
A man got out of the car and walked towards the drunken Zhou Sining.
Zhou Sining’s expression turned dazed when she saw Chen Jianjin. Crying, she ran toward him.
Chen Jianjin opened his arms and hugged her:
“Don’t cry.”
Amid the gossiping of colleagues, Chen Jianjin raised his head.
Our eyes met.
He helped Zhou Sining into the car and took my arm:
“Secretary Wen, come get in the car with us.”
I smiled and shook my head:
“I won’t intrude.”
