Three Years of Silent Chase - Chapter 7
I wanted to run, but he grabbed my arm and pulled me forcefully into his embrace.
His broad shoulders enveloped me from behind.
His forehead rested against my shoulder and neck, and hot tears soaked my nightgown.
My heart suddenly felt like it had been pricked.
I sighed.
“Kingsley, are you crying?”
Clearly, the person in the dressing mirror had red eyes, with tears as big as beans falling and merging into the collar of my nightgown, yet he hoarsely denied it with a serious tone.
“Heh, would I cry?”
Then he lifted his head and met my gaze in the mirror.
Kingsley: “…”
“Damn!”
Then, with a flushed face and neck, he pushed me against the mirror.
Embarrassed and angry.
“Do you like mirrors? Then let’s do it here today!”
“Let me show you the prowess of a husband left behind for three years!”
The hem of my nightgown was slowly lifted, and my freshly bathed body felt frighteningly hot.
Being apart for three years, claiming not to miss him would be a lie.
My hand followed my heart’s desire, sliding up his shirt, feeling the long-missed abs, clearly defined, showing no signs of neglect.
Even though he had done countless bad things before, faced with my teasing, he still blushed.
He leaned in, chasing my lips for a kiss.
“Kiss me, kiss me, honey, kiss me.”
I didn’t want to kiss.
So I ducked my head to avoid him, burying myself entirely into his shirt, warm and carrying his scorching body heat.
“Honey? Ugh!”
The stunned man was suddenly ambushed, shivering all over, almost instantly acknowledging me.
He wanted me to go easy on him, but I didn’t want to.
He still wanted to kiss me, but I didn’t want to.
In his urgency, he grabbed the back of my neck and pulled my head out from the collar.
And then…
Two heads in one collar.
Stuck.
Kingsley and I stared at each other, speechless.
We stayed awkwardly like that for a long time, until both of us burst into laughter.
We laughed for a long time, and finally kissed.
Absurd yet fitting.
