Three Years of Silent Chase - Chapter 5
That night, we unfriended each other and blocked each other.
To continue the game, he moved back to his own home the next day.
We didn’t contact each other during this time.
It wasn’t until the third day that I arrived at the airport with my luggage.
My phone kept ringing in my hand.
Kingsley didn’t sense anything wrong; he simply asked, “Honey, it’s been three days. When are you coming to chase after me?”
“I’ve been holding back from contacting you. Do you think I’m being cool enough?”
“Have I been cold enough for you?”
“If it’s too cold for you, should I tone it down a bit?”
“Honey, we’ve graduated, and I’ve moved back home. Where are you going to chase me? Maybe I should move back.”
“We could pretend we accidentally rented the same place, and the script would flow smoothly!”
“Isn’t my idea great? Your aloof crush as a co-tenant! Are you interested?”
I sat in the waiting area, not responding, just watching with tears streaming down my face.
Until finally, he sensed something was wrong.
“Honey, why haven’t you been responding to me?”
“Did I do something wrong to upset you?”
“Honey, I thought about it again. Did you get the subject wrong? Is it me who’s supposed to chase you?”
“So it’s me chasing you, huh? Honey, you’re doing great, being so cool!”
Even though he had realized something, he still trembled, reluctantly praising me.
In the end, he cautiously probed.
“Honey, I think it’s a bit too cold. Could you pay a little attention to me?”
“I… Honey, why are all your things gone from home?”
“Is it… that you think the place is too small and want a new one?”
“Honey, please, talk to me. I’m so scared.”
…
The incoming call was hung up, and he could only desperately text me.
But in the end, I turned off my phone as well.
With swollen eyes, I boarded the plane with the crowd.
Our ending was just fine here.
But now, it’s been three years.
Kingsley seems unwilling to let this game end unilaterally.
