Three Years of Silent Chase - Chapter 3
Kingsley and I met when university started.
He was the eldest young master of the House of Young, always surrounded by a crowd.
And I was just a girl from the remote mountains who managed to get into university.
Two completely unrelated people who would never have crossed paths in this lifetime.
Yet, it just so happened that it rained that day, and under the eaves, we were the only two without umbrellas.
A girl in just a short-sleeved shirt was shivering from the cold.
The boy beside her glanced over, then glanced over again.
Finally, his warm fingertips cautiously poked my arm.
“Hey, classmate, you can borrow my jacket.”
The large, warm jacket, carrying a hint of heat, landed on my shoulders without room for refusal, wrapping me completely.
A faint, refreshing scent, like the sea, or perhaps fruit wood.
“No… no need, I’m not cold, thank you.”
I instinctively refused, but as my hand touched the warm fabric, reluctance trembled in my heart.
It was truly a very warm feeling.
The jacket was held in my hand, but he didn’t reach for it.
When I looked up, I met Kingsley’s dark eyes and his slightly flushed face.
The words of thanks hadn’t left my mouth.
A cold wind blew past, sending a shiver through me, and I let out a super loud sneeze.
The boy in front of me laughed so hard his shoulders shook, bending slightly to meet my eyes.
“Really not cold?”
Embarrassment and shame flushed my face.
I didn’t refuse again, silently putting on his jacket.
The two of us stood quietly, hoping for the rain to stop.
But the rain only fell harder.
The sky grew darker.
Finally, Kingsley turned his head to look at me.
“Classmate, let’s run back.”
I thought it over and nodded.
But what I imagined was us running separately back to our dorms.
What he meant was covering me with the jacket as he escorted me back to my dorm.
He smelled nice, his embrace was warm, and his eyes sparkled like stars when he spoke.
He boldly and freely held the jacket over his head, spreading his arms wide, and bid me farewell without hesitation.
“Classmate, see you another day!”
I blushed, like a startled hamster.
Dodging, shy, finally raising my hand to wave slightly in front of my chest.
After that, we started meeting more frequently.
He liked to look straight into my eyes when he spoke.
Then, with reddened ears, he would praise me, saying, “Your eyes are beautiful.”
We were passionately in love throughout our four years of university, doing all sorts of intimate things.
He liked it when I pressed against him, my hands resting on his abs, watching me rise and fall with him.
I also liked how his heart and eyes were full of me.
I thought we would be together forever, never changing.
But, the fleeing Cinderella would eventually be caught.
It was in my blood, I couldn’t escape, nor could I hide.
So, when my mentor invited me to go abroad to film a documentary, I agreed.
