Chapter 14
It felt like he was breaking down.
Messages bombarded me.
“He specifically consulted his male friends… just to avoid hurting Minxin.”
“You saw those family planning products, right? They’re recommended by experienced people, effective and good for contraception…”
“There’s a whole big room on the second floor, filled with dresses he prepared for Minxin, just waiting for her to return to the country.”
“He loves Minxin so much that even if he’s with you, it’s just practice, you understand?”
I replied, “Oh.”
He sent nine angry yellow faces.
“You like Song Minxin, don’t you?”
He paused on the other end, “What’s it to you?”
“So you do like her?”
“…Shut up.”
Yan Chen came downstairs holding a glass of milk.
Suddenly reminded me, “Your towel is about to fall.”
I put down my phone and covered my chest.
He laughed abruptly, “Just kidding.”
“Come up and find some clothes.”
I followed him upstairs eagerly.
Sure enough, there was a whole room of beautiful dresses prepared for Song Minxin.
“Pick one yourself.”
I hesitated, “These are quite expensive, aren’t they?”
Besides, Song Minxin has a supermodel figure, I probably can’t fit into them.
“Do you have a dryer here? I can just dry my clothes.”
He leaned leisurely against the door.
“Little bumpkin, if you dare wear those yellow sponge sheep of yours, I’ll throw you out.”
“Or you can run naked, your choice.”
I nodded and went to look at the dresses, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
He walked in, picked out a moon-white dress with straps, and handed it to me.
“This has so many straps, I can’t do it.”
A mischievous curve appeared at the corner of his mouth.
“I’ll help you.”
“It’s simple, like wrapping a gift, more fun to unwrap…”
It was really beautiful.
When I go abroad, I’ll buy myself lots of pretty clothes too.
The dress fit surprisingly well.
Yan Chen wasn’t very good at tying either.
He fumbled around for a long time, a thin layer of sweat forming on his forehead.
He let go of me and turned to go upstairs.
I wanted to follow him.
He stopped me, “Xiao Hua, might as well follow me to the bathroom.”
I looked at him, full of admiration.
“Can I?”
“I want to see how beautiful people relieve themselves.”
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
“What kind of words are those, truly vicious.”
He went upstairs.
I chewed on a banana and drank some milk.
Being a sycophant had become a reflex.
I sneaked up again to see what he was doing.
He was looking at a photo of Song Minxin, his eyes deep and dark.
I withdrew my gaze.
Went to the study to read for a while.
Then returned.
Yan Chen tilted his long neck, his side profile smooth and perfect.
His voice hoarse, calling, “Xinxin, Xinxin…”
The area covered by the thin blanket.
Rising and falling like turbulent waves.
To avoid disturbing him, I quickly greeted him.
“Yan Chen, I’m heading out for a bit.”
After saying that, I quickly ran downstairs.
The rain had stopped.
I cut some roses from the flower bed.
Wrapped them into a beautiful bouquet.
“Xiao Hua!”
Someone called me from the fence.
I looked over, Min Hao arrived quite quickly.
He had just rented a place near Nanshan with his girlfriend.
I walked over and handed him the flowers.
He looked surprised, “These flowers are prettier than the ones over there.”
He gave me a big bag of hometown specialties.
I smiled, “You better hurry back, in case it rains again.”
“Yeah, yeah, thank you, my girlfriend loves big roses!”
Min Hao’s girlfriend comes from a blended family and doesn’t celebrate birthdays.
He wanted to give her a sense of ceremony and surprise.
Originally ordered flowers, but the rain was too heavy, couldn’t deliver.
He posted on his circle of friends asking if anyone sold flowers.
I saw it and replied that I had some here.
I asked Yan Chen, he said no one wanted them anyway, I could take them if I wanted.
A cold, sinister voice came from behind.
“Taking my flowers to give to your friend?”
